Me and my fiancé actually went through this a few months ago- me being the one working too much. I don’t have the best job, but when we first started dating I told him that I stay working cause I have goals. We fought a whole lot because he reacted how she did. Trust me, I always said “I need you to be patient,” or “you stay trippin,” but then I finally realized that it wasn’t fair in a way... I thought I prioritized him, but I really was prioritizing my money flow more then anything. When I started to give him more time, went out with him more, I learned that he like everyone else, just wanted to feel loved... not told that he’s loved everyday or that I miss him 24/7, he wanted to feel it. I showed him this song and he told me he slowly started to prepare himself for that change- mentally. I can’t tell y’all how much that hurt and sad it made me just to hear it, but we engaged now! And we as happy as we can be even with everything going on right now. Sometimes all it takes is trying and seeing it from both sides cause Lord knows I need him! 🤣 Sorry for the novel. 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

People make time for what they want to make time for. I own multiple businesses and I schedule things accordingly. In the event a business meeting may overlap an event for my wife or children due to time zone constraints, etc then I'll communicate the situation with my family beforehand. The perk of being the boss is you can delegate, set parameters, create your own schedule, openly communicate your needs, etc. You should never stretch yourself so thin that you can't make time for the person or people that matters the most to you. Most importantly, never sit & wait for a person to validate your worth.

I don't think the beginning was truly about the overreaction at all. I think it was a perfect example of someone staying too long in something that clearly is not a good fit. People devolve into less attractive or unhealthy versions of themselves when they settle. I don't think him taking that call was a problem at all but her staying long enough for it to become a blow-up moment is. Gosh, surviving abuse taught me a lot, but the most it taught me was: Leave early when red flags are not able to be resolved or you find there are major things that make a situation one that is all about incompatibility. Don't stay so long that you begin to change in unhealthy ways. You'll end up having to undo unhealthy habits and behaviors that are triggered by trauma later. My fiance is super patient with me today due to this. That girl's reaction is so triggering. Love this Toni and H.E.R.! Beautiful music and artistry as usual. Keep it coming!

I’m actually shocked by the comments on here being we’re mostly women. Even with being busy and having our own bag we still make time for our relationships and do our best to make sure the men are well fed in all aspects of the relationship, but when they become “busy” they don’t know how to multi task and balance life by getting to the bag and still taking care of home. I don’t care how much money a man is bringing in if his job and hobbies are preventing him from being present in the relationship then we might as well be single. Worse feeling is to be in a relationship left to feel alone and single without all the benefits of being single. It was weird and overwhelming. I made sure to not marry someone like that. My husband is the complete opposite. But I will admit that when I was depressed I experienced being like this for a little while, but I had to get my sh** together 😂. All of that senseless pain and crying just because you “think” you aren’t getting enough attention is very childish and stressful and you are just hurting yourself more than you are hurting the other person. My husband hated seeing me hurt like that, but we knew it was because I was depressed. I will never put myself through that again 🤦🏾‍♀️.

I think she was too devoted to the relationship in terms of not going after things for herself that way she would feel fulfilled with or without him being there and she would understand he is doing his thing and she is doing her thing to keep things in order in the home that way when they spend time together its "quality time" cause you both would've covered the nuances of other aspects outside couples time. A simple schedule would suffice. Like if she k owns he comes home late in the evenings why not do what you can around the house if you're a stay at home wife get a little nap and when he gets there you can either prepare dinner together or you can just prepare dinner leave it for him when he gets home and then plan a date night on the weekend with no phones... so may work arounds but ehh what am I talking about with my single azz 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How it came across is that age old argument where she wants more time but also more things.
