I saw a video of a pow wow in where a young man (18-20) began dancing in his street clothes because he had no regalia. Before he left , the crowd had gotten together and he left with full regalia and tears of joy. It was such a beautiful day to see the joy and thankfulness of this young man.

I absolutely love your dance videos... That said, I have a sensitive question thats been bugging me, but have no one to ask... So I am sheepishly going to put myself out here and just be real. I am white. Years back when I had some serious addiction issues, I was blessed to be able to attend a native healing/rehab center called Poundmakers in Alberta, Canada. I learned much about your culture, and have a MASSIVE respect for it and your people. I also had a rude awakening as to what my recent ancestors have done to you, your culture and way of life. (We are not taught in school of the horrid things weve done) I have no words to convey how disgusted and horrified I was/am. Now all that said, when I was at poundmakers, i had a MASSIVE spiritual awakening. I feel a pull towards your culture i cannot explain. Out of all religions, cultures, spiritualities, yours speaks to my soul. I was treated with great kindness, and attended pow wows, sweats, round dances, etc as part of therapy. I even had a gentleman say I was the most native white person hed ever met LOL. But alas, theres that elephant in the room... Im white. I would like to know, honestly, what do you think of someone like myself? I feel a HUGE pull to native dance styles, and LOVED my experiences at poundmakers where I could partake in round dances and other aspects of your culture. But I feel like a COMPLETE imposter, and by being white I feel like im the LAST person natives would want to see partaking in aspects of your culture. I know this is a deep thing, but truly how do you view someone as myself? And imposter who needs to find her own culture, or are you open to sharing your culture? Ive always wanted to ask, but never had the courage. Dance is something thats in my soul, and watching your videos just... Speak to me... So thats why I found the courage to speak and ask. Sorry for the huge deep question. Anyways love your vids, take care and stay healthy :)
