The drums make this song for me. Tonight tonight is one of those songs where I would of loved to be in the room to see it come together. What a band
@rafael7899Ай бұрын
I agree It really makes the song, specially that end section when all builds into something else no orchestra couldn't. It's a shame the band as a whole didn't get the same attention while Corgan allured by corporate label representatives bullshit telling to keep all spotlights on him.

I like Matt Cameron too but I totally get it.
@jaimeflor41813 ай бұрын
Objectively, keeping skills in mind, it’s definitely between him and Danny Carey. Dennis Chambers gets a mention too. Grohl and Cameron are good, but don’t have the same level of chops. People that don’t play music or biased fans might not realize or admit it.
@NA-ov8gc3 ай бұрын
@@jaimeflor4181 Yeah, Grohl and Cameron play great parts and know how to write to serve the song - they have incredible ears and musicality - but they aren’t chops monsters like the guys you mentioned. Though I’m a huge Carey fan, out of all the guys you mentioned I think Chambers is tops. The best fusion guys are on another level IMO, they can do it all. (But of course they’re not 90s rock drummers.)
@rafael7899Ай бұрын
@@jaimeflor4181 Cameron's last 90s soundgarden album was freaking next level to me arrangement wise, I love their weird tempos. I love how Grohl helped to build all Nirvana climax too. I mean I just don't know how they can be compared with each other, Chamberlin included, and I gonna check these you're mentioning as well

I love the clave Weather Report-esque beat for the verses. Although not his most mind blowing drum work, it’s still very good and complimentary to the song. I truly love and miss the creative process of coming up with a song with your bandmates. From their humble riff beginnings (that I chop the hell up) and my vox and melodies theyve always loved, cuz now i feel more deeply invested in what theyre playing. For me only way a song works is if the whole enjoys their part. And think their part makes the song. If all four arent groovy with anyone's part, it changes to something we all dig, or the song just doesn't get done. Thats my philosophy...however...lol it's rarely the case that happens. Somebody is always pissed, usually the bassist lolol
