Avatar Korra's dad, Tonraq, wasn't always the most noticable character in The Legend of Korra. As a relatively firm and mellow-mannered waterbender, he engaged in battles only when he had to, like against his brother Unalaq or when Zaheer, Ghazan, and Ming-Hua were breaking P'Li out of prison. However, Tonraq is seriously one of the low key strongest benders we've seen in the series. I was watching Tonraq clips during Father's Day this past weekend. Suited the occasion, now that I think back on that. Tonraq deserved more screentime in The Legend of Korra and also some wins from battle. He could have stuck around in Book 4 to help Korra and her friends defend Republic City from Kuvira, for instance. Now I'm wondering why he and other world nation leaders didn't pitch in against the Earth Empire. As for Tonraq himself, fans have to admit that this burly and large fellow with decent waterbending skills and a soft side could easily turn heads. Korra's mother Senna is one lucky woman. I wonder how much he benches and I wonder when Korra will bench that same amount. I'll add that he rocks my favorite color and he was an exile like I was. Long story.

People praise him bending like an earth-bender, but that's why he lost nearly in every battle lol. Katara got so strong because she used the true essence of water bending that is controlling the flow and redirecting power of the opponent's energy to her advantage, not trying to see who punch harder 😂

Tonraq was not able to defeat Zaheer fighting in the Northern Water Tribe, when floor is ice. Katara, instead, defeat Zuko in just 1 second there.
