Glad to know that I'm not the only one! It's just a real creepy phenomena overall. The chilling, subtle "windy" sound when it's nearby, the sound when you get sucked in, and the look of it just feels real creepy for a Mario game. It still makes me feel unsettled, but thankfully not enough for me to not replay the Galaxy games!

Strange how even when your health is depleted, the 1 health beeping continues until the death scene starts. Also here's a glitch: 6:30 One more thing I don't get about this game is sometimes you just fall through black holes, seen here: 6:26 Edit: Regular death zones are sometimes placed above the black holes, so that's why sometimes the black hole death is not triggered. And the glitch I was referring to is caused by the game hardcoded to kill the player no matter what if they are squished.
