I really like that they made the base in Select blue to differentiate from hobby’s normal color, definitely puts even more value in the hobby base

Select retail is blue and hobby is the regular silver so I’m guessing that’s what you didn’t get that much regular silver prizms so they made those ones kind of rarer in retail than hobby

Select may give you a lot of rookies, but they're are so many parallels and multiple levels. Sort of like how Chronicles is. There might be a lot printed, but each card probably isn't.

It appears as if select retail is its own set, not the same print as select hobby. From what i have seen hobby is the standard chrome color while these mega's appear to be blue in color. that is actually a good thing because it will not drive down the price or value of hobby base and it will have its own established value for its base. Im not sure if there is any overlap of inserts etc as i have not watched many breaks

So hyped my Walmart started stocking again...found stuff a week ago and this morning (sunday) I went around 8am and I got Gypsy Queen, Allen n Ginter, Prestige and Elite Football blaster boxes. .. they had a good amount, had some fat packs and a Chronicle draft picks blaster...I only took 1 of each of the 4 I mentioned

So from what I heard is that Panini made retail different from hobby to keep the value of hobby higher! They did the same thing with Absolute Football in 2014, they made them all die cuts! Hope that helps! Congrats on the big pulls!

@D. that’s def not true look at football prices now and they only just stopped releasing a few weeks back, and will only go up and it’s already like 2.5x retail and basketball is a bit more valued than football so the value will def be there

Love your videos and somehow hadn’t subscribed. Select is my son and my favorite product as we collect together. We love the die cuts!! We can’t ever seem to get cards at retail as two people in our city get tipped off and clean out the Walmart’s and then flip. They aren’t even collectors. It is beyond frustrating when trying to have a fun hobby with my 12 year old son

@@PackmanCards I got up at 5:30 am and clicked refresh for 2 hours to try and get some select. Got it in my cart and last part of check out it just spun and kicked me out. Did it 3 times for the blasters and 4 for the megas. But I could get some football which is kind of a consulation prize. I’m just torn on turning the distributor guy in for tipping off people and the guy who hides and steals. A friend of his disguised himself as a Walmart employee and went into the back. Cut the bottom of the box open so that the top seal was intact. He got away with 12 prizm megas and 12 blasters and all the select football. I’m still bitter to this day as I was trying to get cards for my sons birthday. I miss the hobby the way it used to be where collectors would actually go after a player or team and trade quality cards evenly. And when relic cards weren’t random napkin patches.

Big fan of the Panini XR (chronicles).For someone without big money, they make a lot of 1:1 variations so we can actually get a 1:1. And they are great looking cards with great looking autos. Barely any I’ve seen that are off the sticker. Obviously, downside is that they are sticker autos, but revert to the top where they are great cards but affordable

The Premier Level in Select Football is the same way for some reason. They put the silver completely over the players to make it look much different than the other 3 sets. It might be an error, but at least they are consistent!

Second box definitely beat the first one! I like that they only included the blue base cards to differentiate retail from the hobby product. I just hope that there aren’t too many SKUs with too many different parallels, because I think that’s one of the reasons why Hoops Premium Stock didn’t do too well last year. I’m excited to pick up some of these and hopefully some blasters, hangers, and fat packs as well.

I don’t mind them differentiating the retail base from hobby but the blue looks a big weird to me. Might just take some getting used to. It looks like there are already a crazy high amount of parallels for each SKU. I guess we’ll see how that affects the select market. Hopefully you can get some at retail!
