I’m from the westside of Chicago and went to Austin High School which was a rival of Crane, where TA attended. Those are some great games, ACA vs Crane and ACA vs Westinghouse. I remember him and Bynum were dogs. I was happy to see them make it to the NBA. But I never knew TA was originally from the southside. He has a very powerful story. I’m glad he chose a different path. I always respected his game as a defensive player. I respect him even more knowing his full story.

Yes sir.. Will the Thrill! Cranes finest. Never seen a dude jump that high before in person.. And I've seen Fields back in the day too. Will was the most explosive point guard ever to come out of Chicago.. I remember when Will and Sean Dockery would battle.... Love that Jason Straight shout out... J could ball.. Think he went to Wyoming to play ball.

It’s a weird vibe in professional sports now. Used to see dudes from the hood work they ass off to get out and now a days, you got jits in a two parent home in the suburbs tryna be street. If you didn’t grow up a certain way without a choice, don’t glorify that shit. Great job by these two spotlighting the hood for the masses

It's great that things are back to kids coming from 2 parent homes/situations.
@kairesaykiyear9 күн бұрын
@ your not getting what I’m saying. There’s no reason for these kids who actually have a good head on their shoulders and have the right support system want to be gangsters. Your parents have you so far removed from all that so why try to portray an image your not?
@shawnsmith83354 күн бұрын
lol gangstas come from all backgrounds that’s a stigma ppl tried to create that you had to be from a single parent home to be street . Some ppl be from the suburbs but got hood family go visit them and get into what they into happens all the time . Been happening back in the day till present too .

I mean you’d have to understand the gang culture to really get why they’re respected. I don’t agree with the drug game but I understand why people went into it. Especially back in the 80s and 90s. Guys weren’t doing it moreso for clout like most do it nowadays. It was about survival and having a better life. I’m from the hood and grew up poor. My family wasn’t in the streets but even I considered it. Living with no heat in the winter, having to boil water in an electric stove to put in a hostel wash tub to wash up, eating government food that just never tasted right, not having decent clothes and shoes, not being able to go anywhere because your family doesn’t have money, etc. can all push you to do things to get money.
@GDC-v8p12 күн бұрын
@@JrRimp I understand it but I don’t like it! My Mom was a crack addict, my dad, uncles, one of my uncle’s died from a crack overdose! I sold drugs, my brother, my cousins, my homeboys! I was a product of that environment and it was wack! I turned out decent but that lifestyle hindered my full potential. I have drug felonies on my record! They put us in a box to destroy us! So I don’t understand why it’s glorified in any fashion or form.
@KingSpaceySprockets12 күн бұрын
@@GDC-v8pI get it. I seen some of my closest friends and relatives literally steal from their own kids to feed that habit. I had a heart so I understand as I what you saying. Unfortunately I’m guilty as well as I served some of the people I loved and recently lost my god mother to it. I get it bro…
