How is this the ONLY recording I can find of this insanely incredible opening?!?! Such a smart and beautiful way to get around the writers strike and feature the other aspects of Broadway that deserve more eyes on!

I’m still mad the Tony’s haven’t been uploading their performances. the one time of year the whole country can access broadway and they won’t even upload a video for people to rewatch

CBS took it down because the start of the number alludes to the writers strike (blank pages in the show script). They originally posted the number following Ariana leaving the dressing room through to its end, but then realized the entire performance refers to the strike as it’s all dancing and nothing is sung or spoken.

We used to ,until they got so cheap and only focused on the least important think …the dresses,no more amazing productions on the Oscar’s ,really sad …people !

Apparently there was supposed to be a rap part written by Lin Manuel Miranda for Ariana to performed but because of the Writer's Strike, Lin had to scrapped it in solidarity of the strike. That's understandable and a real shame

Another cool fact is Ariana. Competed in So You Think You Can Dance, not placing very well- likewise on both counts for the choreographer of this piece, Karla Garcia. So awesome for both of them.
