Anybody who thinks Lineker was a good footballer knows nothing about the game, he was rubbish. Didn't run in behind, couldn't hold it up, didn't involve himself in build up play. In and around the six yard box he was a decent goalscorer, BUT he was no ROMARIO.

He played on the last man and had pace and could finish very well. He wasn't a world class footballer and didn't win that much either. Lineker is now better known for talking bollox .

Tough to say exactly what makes someone world class, which is the aim of the show but what we are finding out is that there seems to be a difference between a world class goalscorer and a world class player when talking to ex pros

@richard7289 lineker kept cottee out of the England team, but from speaking to a few ex pros now they all have such a high bar for world class and don’t give it out lightly

Just because you're a Sun and daily mail reader 😬😂 he was world class. A strikers job is to score goals and it's the hardest thing to do. It's all well and good Tin hat Matt Le Tissier who wasn't in the same class as Zola or Juninho and cottee saying Lineker and Shearer wErEnT wOrLd ClAsS but they were nowhere near world class themselves so how can they judge?

The hardest part is scoring goals. Shearer was world class. Le Tissier wasn't in the same class as Zola, Juninho, etc.
