Unfortunately I don't think so. Hollyoaks writers tend to drag storylines for several months even if they lack common sense. 😒 So we will seeing more of Edward for the next several months like we did with Mac Nightingale. Also, Edward doesn't match Breda's moral killing code since Tony is a grown man now and no kiddies have gotten hurt yet because of him. In fact, I don't think that Breda would have considered killing Mac if he didn't blackmail her and threaten to publicly expose her serial killer identity, so Mac had that coming.

Edward seems to be a similar version to Mac Nightingale. Firstly, they both treat their sons (Tony and James) like garbage, try to get under their skin, and try to turn their family members against them. Then, they will do anything to get what they want by any means possible. Finally, they both seem to be narcissists and psychopaths.

I think that it depends on how much Diane is willing to sacrifice before she reaches her breaking point. Edward is getting under Tony's skin and playing the long game to get back Diane: making Diane jealous by hooking up with Marnie to show how he's moved on and he's a great catch.

Edward's plan seems to be working well so far: fooled Tony into letting him stay at home with him and Diane with his fake letters, got Diane to be slightly jealous of Marnie from their one night stand, made Diane think that he has moved on from her, manipulated Diane into thinking that Tony is mentally unstable and needs more help and guidance from Edward to get better soon, and got under Tony's skin and made him extremely anxious, useless, and paranoid. I think that Edward's end goal is to get Tony to think that he's a failure and burden to Diane and his kids so that he disappears one day so that Edward can swoop in and save the day. Edward seems to have everything all planned out when Diane ended things with him and gave him back his necklace at the hospital.

Tony attended therapy with Diane and he ended up having a full blown panic attack. They both want to speed up the process so that they can go back to how everything was prior to Breda's kidnap, but that's not how the mind or psych works unfortunately.

Hollyoaks is doing this storyline wrong, making Tony’s mental health story like it’s a joke. Like what the fuck, I get people are like Edward ajd actually do this buy this isn’t what viewers want, they want to see Tony get help, etc..... their literally making fun of people with ptsd
