Respect to King James and his legacy he'll leave behind...One day I'll like to hear it all from Lebron but these days I'd rather hear it all from the OGs of sports. Questions and answers start with the lessons Coach Dungy took from his lifetime of memories playing and coaching in the NFL his parents and mentors provided him, and what changed or didn't as he matured or when he encountered other coach's philosophies and team methodologies. Best of all, it's interspersed with his own observations and conclusions. Tony seasons it with a few stories behind the stories. Top tier interview of a living legend. Thanks for the history lessons , Shannon.

I thought the question Shannon asked at 1:09:30 would have been the start of a deeper conversation on systems vs individuals. I think Shannon is right that when you turn away from a problem or go another way, the problem still exists. I think Dungy’s (and his father’s) approach works on an individual level, but when you talk about systemic issues, those must be confronted and laws must be changed. People have fought to change these systems. I’ve never seen Dungy aggressively go after systemic problems, but whatever influence he’s gained, he definitely tried to create opportunities. It’s 2 different approaches.. BOTH are needed, but not everybody can do the same things, but I hope folks are respectful regardless of rhe path they choose - so long as we’re working for the same goals.

I think Bruce, Byron, and Todd are fine. They need more time to click, IMO. I mean, compare Aaron Rodgers last year to this year in LaFleur's system. The Bucs roster looks great on paper and is in great position to win it all given the cap situation, but I don't see them winning it this year though.

My only gripe is with Bruce Arians. He’s not a winner based on his coaching record prior to taking the Bucs job. He is a brilliant offensive mind but he totally lacks situation coaching/adjustments that good coaches are apt. Plus, he gets pass happy pretty often.

The systemic denial to be allowed to excel in a professional position (Quarterback, Engineer, Physician, Attorney, Professor, etc.) did not stop us from striving for and achieving excellence. Tenacity, determination, refusal to accept “No”, going beyond the call of duty, first in the office and last to leave the office, performing at the highest level, exceeding peers with exemplary work, etc. are just a few traits we must have to succeed in professional environments that historically deny us. “Above all, I believe in work, systematic and tireless.” - W.E.B.
