So many similarities between Maria Felix and Elizabeth Taylor. Maria Felix queen of Latin cinema in the Golden era and Elizabeth Taylor Queen of Hollywood's golden era. Maria Felix loved Cartier, Elizabeth also had a Cartier piece given to her by Mike Todd. But Elizabeth became more of a Bulgari fan. Elizabeth owned The asscher cut Krupp Diamond and Maria Felix owned the Ashoka Diamond. Elizabeth liked gold snakes from Bulgari and Maria Felix loved gold crocodiles from Cartier. Maria Felix said in an interview after being asked of her affinity for serpents; “It’s not an affinity for serpents; I have an affinity for diamonds. Nice diamonds. It’s not like I would wear a real python on my neck.”.

On Maria Felix's big jewels, she sold those back to Cartier because her only son passed away before she did. Once her only heir was gone, she sold all the important valuable jewels and art pieces, for she didn't want to be uncertain what her beloved treasures destiny could be when she died. Allegedly, after her son, Enrique Alvarez Felix passed, she started a moderate depression cycle and her strong image begun to crack down, however she was now being more into public eye, giving interviews and being nicer to media. Like if she knew her end was near. She survived her son about 6 more years. Misteriously, she died healthy, calmed and happy asleep during the early hours on her birthday leaving everybody very impressed, because she was to give a party at night for her B-day celebration.

*It is said she sold the pieces back to Cartier because she wouldn't know what would be of them After her death. She had one child only (a son). He died 6 years before she did. She left her fortune about 50 million US dollars to her personal assistant/driver. She was Not close to her sibling so nothing was left to them. They fought for part of her fortune but lost.*

I can see the craftmanship but it's a shame they all look like cheap costume jewellery.

Yes, I agree to a degree. The diamond snake neckless looks too bulky, and it just doesn't look right. I'm surprised becuase Cartier is well known for their exquisite craftsmanship. I think the alligator necklace was well done, but there again, it doesn't look right to an extent. I would have scaled the alligators down a bit, and instead of the two alligators overlapping each other, I would have possibly put a ring of diamonds between the two both griping the diamond ring with their mouths on the sides of the ring. I'm sorry, but the panther piece looks a bit crudely made. The Duchess of Windsor wore panther jewelry and compare her pieces with this piece. The Duchess's panther pieces are refined, elegant, and the craftsmanship speaks for itself like Faberge. BTW, panther jewelry are classic timeless pieces. There is something about a panther that exudes a sleek sophistication.

Definitely looks like fine jewelry and it IS fine jewelry . You’re looking at the Diamond snake necklace thru your poor mindset and thinking with your wallet . You see costume because that’s what you could afford and will never own anything that expensive in your life time . You should take another look 🧐at that masterpiece .
