Oh man, the 90's was such an incredible time for Xtreme sports. I was into BMXing at the time and spent all of my free time at the local ramp park. The biking / skating culture was so fresh and exciting. The clothing, the demo videos, magazines, the culture, the video games. Just an incredible time to be alive!

Riders name is Radovich or "Rado". I don't remember his first name (from memory) but was always the one bmxer that kept riding when not many others did. I thought I heard someone yell "Yeah Buzza" then I heard they did. Buzza was the most iconic "local" of that place and always came to show pro's up. Anyone that knows Buzza and filmed this era should do a mixtape of Buzz skating in the pros demo. No one will ever destroy this ramp as much as Hosoi did easter 89. Tas, Ben, Ellis, Chris Miller maybe.... Legendary footage mate. Thankyou. Remember this day.

@@mikehemens9359 The way Ben and Tas pushed each other was so dynamic to watch. On any given day either was better. What I would've given to watch one of the Pappas, Way, Sluggo, McKay sessions you'd see bits of on DC or 411. #reddragons

No matter the ramp, Tony always delivered incredible demos back in the day. There are plenty of them on KZbin. This is before the 900, his video-games and the giant home-ramp.

I used to build ramps from the trash people would put on the curb. The only bike trick I ever did was a table top I think.. well I did a Superman once but that was more of me crashing when the ramp sort of gave way. I played a bit of hockey and roller hockey which led to doing tricks on rollerblades. I had a good 15 or so tricks down on them thanks to learning how to grind. We used to do a high jump competition in them… that also led to a Superman when I decided to grab onto a truck to get speed. I did a front flip like that but I didn’t ride it out and think I gave myself a concussion when one of the skates (that was still on my foot!!) clocked me in the head. I saved up enough cash from requesting cash as opposed to gifts for my birthday to buy my very first complete skateboard. It was cheap wheels and bearings with a nice set of trucks and a BlackFlag branded deck. I even managed to get to go to my first Skate park, in Norman Okla. that day I learned how to do a lot including dropping in on a 5 ft quarter pipe. They had a huge half pipe and while I did it on blades I couldn’t on a board. I was purple from on both my sides, about nipple high down to my knees. My forearms were pretty tender as well. I would have done that every day from that point on if I could’ve I couldn’t lay on my sides forever after that my outside ankle felt like it was vibrating for the next week. The closest thing I ever did after then that was as much of a rush was riding a bull once as a young adult and racing motorcross. I tried to do the jumping stairs and flat ground stuff because that’s all I had to work with. I think I got to go to the park twice. I got stuck in a backwoods area one a dirt and gravel drive/ road after that. I gave it a try in my early 20’s and paid severely to the point I was forced to stop due to the contract I signed with the government (they refused to let there investment be taken out by an extreme sport of any kind, to the point they made us get permission and could cost us the bonus we got/ if we got one when we enlisted). I miss the 90’s.

Wow, the old Prahran ramp. They made a copy of it in my town of Bairnsdale but they screwed the coping up and it stuck out to far and never really got skated much. Not like this anyway lol. The bike riders and rollerbladers ended up using it more. 😕🤷♂

Also, lets be real, as shown here, Frazier's better at skating then Tony. A litany of pro skaters from different eras were better then Tony. Chris Livingston is a semi obscure name at this point and he was WAY better. Tas's brother was WELL better. Not to take from Tony cause I like his skating alot but something happened along the way, maybe its his heigt or it was the x games birdman campaign of bullshit. Brain washing.
