When I lived in Beijing I got an electric motorcycle. I ended up loving it. It becomes such a different experience being able to hear things around you. All the torque was awesome too.

I had a 64 vete for 30+ years. After 20 years, I had to replace the 327 with a 383 crate motor. I lost a few friends (in my tail lights). I can only imagine the shade from the purists, but time marches on, and the styling of this car will never fade. I say evolve or die.

I'm not against electric cars. I believe there are pros and cons to anything. I can respect the knowledge and craftsmanship that went it this Corvette. I personally wouldn't do anything like this,but the way I look at is this.. There are thousands of beautiful antiques/classics all around the world packed in garages or rotting away in a field someplace that will never see the light of day. No one will ever see it or appreciate in anyway. At least when a classic is turned into a EV its being used. Its out in the world for people to see and putting a smile on someones face as it goes by. Maybe it looks and sounds a little different, but there are other ways to distroy a beautiful car then turn it into a EV.

I've had a '64 stingray since 1978. It's got a sleek black paint job, black top, tan leather interior. I have the original engine. The electric engine seems to defeat the point - it's like a voiceless opera singer.

Some people just don't get it. They have a lot of money and want a cool car. It's a status symbol. And the only reason they have cool cars is because they have money. A real car guy can make a regular living. Drive an old or regular car or truck back and forth to work. But back home in his garage under a car cover he'll have a muscle car, hot rod, classic or exotic.

I’have been to many concerts and have thought this would be great! Not earbuds but very high quality headphones with good bass. You could also have boom mics that let you speak with people you are with or any one else you chose. Think about what musicians hear every time they are up there. Most all professional musicians all have in-ears that block out a lot of the sound around them. The actually don’t even hear the complete musical arrangements and only what they need/want. Until we try it we won’t know if it’s good or not but to me, having the best sound no matter where you are in the arena or venue, would be amazing.

I'm not against swapping classics.... It's a shame he had to pull a running v8 and manual out to do this swap though. If it was a corvette pulled out of a junk yard with no engine it would be more understandable. Anyway still a fantastic car and I would love to have a V8 and an electric one.

Well he could have sold the drivetrain for many thousands of dollars to buy part of the EV rig. That motor and transmission could serve another car. I'd rather have this roadster for 70k than a Tesla roadster for 170k. His rig could probably fit in a MGTD or TF. That battery box would fit the hood.

The shop was in his neighbourhood and he got talking to the owner one day and they said they'd do it for free if they could film the process and tony was like ahhh yeah i guess so sweet

I couldn't do it. There's nothing like starting the engine and hearing the sound of the Pipes! Spinning the tires off the line, then hitting second gear and laying down More rubber, then hearing the "chirp" when you slam third gear. Then, the Big SMILE on your face while easing it into fourth gear. I would be bored in two minutes with it being electric. I may be slower, but I wouldn't care, I'm in My own Zone!

Producing those electric motors and batteries are so much worse for the environment than an ICE. Electric vehicles are worse for the environment than ICE vehicles due to how much more harmful producing electrical circuits and batteries is for the environment than mechanical components

I'd rather see old timers converted to alternative engines so they can be used on the road, then them not being able to be driven at all once fuel costs become too prohibitive or fuel for private use is no longer available. And yes, as a European I love the sound of an old school American V8 or V6. Yet I love the styling of most American cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s more.

Innovation is great but you don’t throw away 150 years of technology that hard-working Americans Poured their heart in Soul in to give us that satisfying automobile the sound the feel of the engine the power and now we become silenced with electric vehicles ones that no one can hear coming anymore ones that will never have that classic rumble we all grow to love not just in our hot rods But in Racing the auto manufacturers made their living off of race on Sunday Sell on Monday with the thrill and the sounds of the sites they provided an electric vehicle will never ever accomplish what we have before us in any form of driving and according to Joe Biden Automobiles make up 40% of the CO2 but I would bet no matter how many million electric vehicles are on the road that number will never change it’s not the majority you must fix the majority before you fix that minority and that’s 60% of everything else causing our CO2 pollution something United States can’t fix alone and if no other countries go along with it it will be all for not in the United States will end up suffering with a possible new footprint blackouts brownouts strain and struggled for years putting us back in the dark ages you know like they tried through Covid, just food for thought though I don’t believe gasoline is going anywhere around where I live they put up two multi million dollar facilities that’s specifically fuel only gasoline cars just like the shot no one wants anything forced down their throat this country is about freedom and choice And one day it will be the other way around where the American people demand what they want not just sit back and take what they give us

I will also add those who retain and keep their gasoline cars will be sitting on a gold mine because the electric cars in my opinion will be throwaway municipalities are already doing that because it’ More expensive to replace the battery then an engine, And don’t forget with all the gadgets you get with your electric car one of them will be your GPS for whatever reason they decide could keep you from driving and shut it down or lock it out, had a conversation with a Ford rep and they said the reason for electric was that it was cheaper using less moving parts there’s your first clue cheaper which means more money in their pockets It’s already proven when it comes to payload the electric combination just won’t cut it A guy towing his trailer said it took him six extra hours to get where he was going because of having to stop to charge remember it only takes a matter of 5 to 7 minutes to fuel up at the pump

I used to work at tesla. No one there knows what they are doing. Those cars are being built by little old ladies that absolutely hate their jobs. I would never own a tesla or even ride in one after having worked there. They are death traps.
