The fact that he is still booking Hangman to feud with Moxley after the violence of a Texas Death Match is proof enough. This is going to be AEWs version of Cena vs Orton if they aren't careful.

And he still hasn’t learned, it’s the same repetitive horseshit booking. Hangman and Swerve had a very good feud that should’ve culminated with their fantastic but very gruesome Texas Death Match at Full Gear in November. That should’ve been the blow off, Swerve beat him twice, that should’ve been the end of their feud, so keep those two guys away from each other for at least a year if not longer. But no, here they are not even three months later still feuding with each other only this time Joe is involved. I’d be willing to bet that Hangman and Swerve will have another singles match at a PPV and possibly on TV as well after Revolution, Tony’s booking has become that predictable. If the AEW roster was small, it would be understandable but they’ve got a stacked roster full of great talent, so there’s no need to do stuff like that

I remember back when my biggest issue with AEW's booking was how on every Dynamite in 2020 we'd get multiple spot fest trios tag matches, I wish I could go back to those days cause AEW was a lot better back then. A year ago I would put up with their issues cause it was the best wrestling show on tv but now that WWE is actually great it's shining a light on how bad AEW has been falling off

Jericho lost a feud to Ricky Starks and turns around into a title match. Starks gets a feud with Juice Robinson. It's just backwards. Hobbs had video packages to build him but they were far and few between. Powerhouse should have been there consistently jobbing fools and building himself up. AEW has been on a steady decline since Forbidden Door was announced last year. All that random buildup with no explanation and a showcase of matches. Then the summer of INTERIMS smh

I think Dynamite was great for the passed 3 years that I've watched it, but these passed few months, I've been fast forwarding alot of Dynamite, I'm tired of these same feuds and other feuds that don't lead to anything. I agree with you, alot of the story telling has been great because the wrestlers have the freedom to mold things to keep them interesting, but the booking is bad.

The only way to properly follow and aew storyline is to be chronically online. BTE is an awkward and boring watch. Why is there always a lawsuit angle after baby face gets their shit in. Why did they need to give Hobbs a cheap win. You have to turn your brain off and just enjoy the actual wrestling in order to enjoy AEW (for the most part). AEW has had a bitter taste in my mouth ever since Rosa beat Baker in that lights out match and they celebrated Baker the following week and did fuck all with Rosa. And when she did win the title, her first promo is 3 seconds long with a Vickie interruption talking about green cards. His booking of the women is so trash. Don't even get me started on Jade Cargill being on Jade Cargill Island. For months she's been talking about finding competition to the point where they got her feuding with Bow Wow because Tony doesn't want her near the rest of the division. This homegrown vs outsider feud should have their biggest women's homegrown talent on it but nope.

Its my issue as well. I like Aew but I have a lot of criticism towards it and Tony Khan. I'm a big pro wrestling fan. But I didn't like how with All Out there was only 4 matches that really had builds to them. And one of those matches Ricky Starks got squashed by Hobbs. Also its boring how its always the same angle that gets wrestlers to wrestle one another in the ring. Their roster is too big and some wrestlers will appear on TV then will miss out on Dynamite three weeks and then show up out of nowhere and you go oh yeah I forgot he works in Aew. And its bad especially when you try to build a feud and the wrestlers in that feud don't appear on TV for two weeks before the ppv. Also title belts being defended on TV look I don't mind it but not every single time especially if you know very well that wrestler will retain the belt. And another comment to through in there I remember during the Jungle Boy feud with Christian when Jungle Boy first came back after getting turned on by Christian. It felt like it didn't matter much.

For me I would’ve booked MJF vs Danielson like this, I call it “Earn your time” The match would be announced as a 30 minute iron man match with the stipulation that Bryan would have to face 6 opponents between now and Revolution. For each match Bryan wins he gets 5 minutes added until he gets the full hour but for each match he lost mjf if given an automatic fall before the match begins So for example if bryan goes 3/6 then he gets a 45 minute iron man match but he’s already down 0-3 This makes mjf trying to get Danielson to lose all the more important because even if it’s just 1 fall then mjf will try to sit on it for the full time and if you wanna build drama then you have Danielson already working from the bottom and clawing to catch up. You can even have mjf low kick bryan and he gives up a fall to go up by 2 more At least that’s an idea I would’ve done because bryan is earning every fall he gets while mjf takes the easy way out

Jim Cornette has been spot on for a few years now. People gave him crap, but he pulled me in because it was little things I was seeing that just wasn't sitting right with me from the jump. It is not realistic. And to me the problem is WWE. Because what WWE was putting out, with the exception of anything Bloodline related, was garbage and people wanted an alternative. As long as Vince was there people were going to tune in to AEW out of protest. But then HHH started running creative. It wasn't perfect but it was still exciting enough, and the fans could see where he was slowing headed. That I think took a lot of the wind out of the AEW sails and people started seeing the differences.

I think his weekly stuff has gotten pretty stale. I don’t think using the media scrum incident not being addressed is fair because a lot couldn’t be discussed and I don’t think other companies, particularly WWE, would’ve said anything either. I’ve noticed it particularly with guys like Danhausen that there’s just quite a few niche cringe characters that just seem to be meant for popping the internet crowd. Meanwhile, guys like Miro (and I’m biased because I think God’s favorite champion was his best work) are sitting at home. I think the elite coming back and winning the trios gold was a mistake and showed complete tone-deafness. There are too many titles as-is, and when you throw all the ROH stuff on top it’s even worse. The factions all kind of suck right now and you’re missing guys like Adam Cole still.

Jim Ross, Taz, and several other old hands are there in AEW. Let them help you book Tony. They are experienced. They know what to do. I don't watch AEW weekly. I don't watch BTE. I watch the PPVs and read weekly results. That leaves me satisfied because as you said Geekdom, most of the time Dynamite and Rampage are predictable and boring. Meanwhile RAW and Smackdown are doing good right now! Sure, they aren't perfect, but damn I am entertained. Starting to think Ariel was right about Tony. Snowman.

I do agree with you on a lot of this stuff but Roman reigns should win character of the year not wrestler of the year because he is only wrestled like 8 or 9 matches and they are not great matches. They are very entertaining matches that are great for furthering his character, but I wouldn't compare them to a high work rate match that Moxley, Osprey, Danielson (who was my pick) or even Rollins have put on all year.

Saying Jon Moxley wasn’t wrestler of 2022 is insane. The guy is twice the wrestler of Roman on top of having compelling stories, The Bloodline is the best story in wrestling rn but Roman is one of the least compelling parts of it at this stage and was getting stale before Sami and puts on the same match every single time he wrestles which is like never. Edit: Also I largely agree with quite a few of your critiques of TK but the comparisons to HHH as if HHH is some insane booker has gotta stop. We deadass see the same matches on raw every few weeks, Raw is boring almost every week aside from Cody/Sami/Bloodline stuff, WWE is definitely just as if not more predictable than AEW. Like there’s so much dogshit packed into an episode of Money night Raw I can’t even see how people say with a straight face HHH is a super awesome booker. Better than Vince for sure tho.

Tony needs to stop bringing in local talent to job out to the signed wrestlers and actually have real matches and build storylines. They could have stories going on that's exclusively to KZbin giving people a reason to watch. Dark matches aren't televised for a reason. If this is all those two shows are going to be, just cancel them and just have those matches for the live audience.
