In the last few years I have bought about 5 pair of exotic leather boots! I had NO idea until watching these vids on KZbin on how to treat my boots. You're videos are the best and opening my eyes to a whole to world and way to care for my boots.

Just a tip. Don't apologize every time you pause the camera. We can't tell the camera was paused so it sounds weird when you keep randomly apologizing. Same at the end of the day and then it's next morning. It's instantaneous for us so you don't have to explain it for 5 minutes. Great work and Howdy from Australia.

Loved the video and had one question I’m thinking about getting a pair of snakeskins and seen where you used the Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovator on a pair of elephant skins and was wondering if you could also use it on snakeskin or not
@CobblersPlus4 жыл бұрын
I would rather use the repton on snake because it doesn’t use the mink oil witch is a little to strong for snake skin

I have a pair of Christian Louboutin python heels. The were very expensive I'm afraid of taking them to a shoe cobbler. You mentioned that the Saphir is good on dark skins, mine are light and dark. What would you recommend? Also is there a way to get the scales to lie flat? They're flaking up a bit in some places. Thank you

Can you do a video explaining the saphir line of products

Little update on the python jacket: I can feel that something has definitely been applied on the jacket, I would say some balm, probably natural and / or synthetic waxes. I can see some characteristic white cracks on a few différents spots. It makes the leather sticky and mate. I started removing it using a brush and a cloth, it’s definitely better but I feel like I could brush forever and it wouldn’t remove everything. What should I do prior to applying new care, namely reptan and Creme 1925 or in black. I don’t wanna apply anything on before removing this layer. I’ll take any advice. Thanks so much !

With a jacket the reptan you definitely need to give it some time to dry and buffing is very important. With boots and shoes there are more hard parts so applying some pressure is easy on them as needed when buffing. A jacket is all soft so ideally best to lay it out on a table to buff well and again give it time to dry

Thanks for the tips man.... but, what is barnish? Are you trying to say Burnish, or is there another technique that I have absolutely no clue about?? Iam not trying to be a smart-ass, is there something I dont know about? I just got into making exotic leather products.... iam a professional artist and Bookbinder and this is the 1st time I will be working with exotic leathers. I just bought a small fortune in croc, horned croc, Alligator, snakeskin and ostrich leathers. I know my Italian and French goatskin, Buffalo cow and bull. Thanks for the video, I appreciate it man.

Some of those spots that look like I’m going against the scales but I’m angling the brush to just hit the welt and sole edge as much as possible. Other times I go with or side to side of the scales
