People need to remember that Tony's first and best instrument is the piano/keyboards. This dude has got to be one of the most talented MUSICIANS ever!

T Mac ..The dude has a great ear .This song is off his second CD "Maximum Security" This is a good example of writing a song that is "classical" sounding w/o using the "AMEN" Cadence , like you hear Yngwie doing . The "Amen" is the simplest cadence you hear Bach doing and it is Yngwies' "Formula" With Ripper owns YNG is changing up his Formula and getting Heavier .Mac A likes the Dorian and chromatic movement "romantic" era Classical. Journey also uses Melodies from the Romantic period

Great Neo Classical guitarist. I really liked Malmsteen's music but MacAlpine is just as good plus he is great keyboard player. His Chopin etudes are so nice. I finally saw T Mac last September 2017in Atlanta. Very good concert.

Those old BC Rich ASM's are a bitch to play. The action ia high. Strings start to buzz if you set it up just a hair below 2mm. I used to own one and it was a struggle to do fast legato.

@boogie51788 Yes I am experienced listening to it. I used to buy this stuff when I was first learning guitar. But then I figured out I really didn't like listening to it that much. It was just entertaining the first couple times because of the high skill it takes to play it. Now my criteria for judging music is how much I crave listening to something. Thiat's it! I don't care about the skill level any more. It can be hard or easy to play as long as it sounds good to me.

@boogie51788 No you don't have to have a huge following to be good. I like my share of niche bands too. Voi Vod, Mekong Delta, Forbidden what have you. The difference is when you go to a concert you don't get a bunch of guys looking at the fingering and sweep picking. You get screaming fans who love the music for what it is. But each to his own. No reason to to get upset becuase I don't like TM. If you said VoiVod sucks it woudn't phase me one bit

@fenderbender92 First off music *IS* subjective and I am simply giving my opinion. Secondly if he's so good why don't more people listen to him? There are so many of these uber shredders now and very few of them get much air play or have much popularity. They typically have some small hard core base of fans. Why is that? Evidently some people share my opinion.

Why do I see Steve Vai's name on uploads of other musicians all the time - and usually by haters? Just listen to the fuckin' music. OK?
@jabberwock1113 жыл бұрын
@boogie51788 Ok so I listened to it? and so? Look, people often think their favorite music should be loved by everyone else. It doesn’t work that way. I didn't find the melody particularly enticing, but if you like it, great each to his own. In general I tend to dislike musicians whose fan base primarily consists of other musicians. Let me guess, you play guitar or some other instrument. I find the music tends to be more about impressive gymnastics than music that stays with you.
@jabberwock1113 жыл бұрын
@boogie51788 I didn't even notice your name. It's that people who like these artists are mostly guitar players or musicians. Just look at the commenters. As for Van Halen and Megadeth they are NOT the epitome of shed. Their music includes shred but they also have great songs which is why their fan base is more diverse. Shred is a valuable tool but it won’t fix crappy songwriting. I laugh when I see some no name shredder that thinks he’s better than EVH. Shred along is worthless
@jabberwock1113 жыл бұрын
@boogie51788 You know it's funny you are bashing a bunch of well known bands because according you their music is "fake, immature, lame, music that has no substance", and still you get upset if I don't like TM. Also I had taken my opinions elsewhere when you decided to reply so you can blame yourself for that.
@jabberwock1113 жыл бұрын
@boogie51788 LOL! Now your just trolling. You can't even point to one thing I said that was incorrect, especially since it's MY opinion. Anyway troll on if it makes you happy.

@boogie51788 Now I remember.... I've owned an ASM and compare to a Jackson or an Ibanez setup, BC Rich ASM's neck are fat and it is a bitch for anyone who is used to playing low action.
@ytkoekie200014 жыл бұрын
can you call this guitarist a shredder? He is very technical and fast but the playing is also in a strange(but good way) more interesting than just playing notes fast. .

didnt know ice cube was a neo classical guitarist
@jabberwock1114 жыл бұрын
Is he good? Yeah! but honestly this is just another shred fest with no real memorable melody or hook. There's a reason why most of these guys have a limited fan base even though they are uber good players. It's impressive when you hear them the first time but over the long run I would personally rather listen to Van Halen, Megadeth or something else. You can all thumbs down me now.
