This is a perfect example of a singer who has obviously taken great care of her instrument. She sounds almost exactly the same as she did 22 years ago.....just a little bit of a deepness and weight that one would naturally gain throughout the years. She is doing it here in the original key, and still sounds so perfect it's unbelievable. I had to opportunity to see her cabaret show at 54 Below a few years back, and her voice was as magical as ever.

Recently watching THAT Disney film. I've been going down the rabbit hole of finding other singers of this song, all the others (Including Vanessa Williams who I adore) over sell it. But Judy's original version moves me beyond belief. There is a deepness in her voice, it's almost as if the pain and anger is real. She is so amazing.

2:10...awesome. After having to suffer through Mariah Careys vocal decline in her later years, I was already cringing to see whether or not Judy Kuhn would still be able to belt out those high notes and Im so relieved she did. The annoying staccato piano accompaniment aside, I can easily imagine a more seasoned Pocahontas singing this song to a group of children, teaching them not to take nature for granted. This song is totally Judys. Not even Lea Salonga can match her performance, and she tried.
