A world without Tony Rice is a little bit less of a world.

Simply awesome. I bought the LP of this session in 1984. The creativity of this album has continuously been relevant for more than 30 years.

Fun Fact: It was just getting relevant for a 40 year old man in Germany the last couple of months. Amazon promised me to Ship this Album, but....iam waiting for weeks now. Tony and crew were simply awsome.

Yep! Made Spacegrass a reality! TR is my main inspiration and I'm a finger picker! His approach to chord structure is pretty free-flowing. He inherited a lot from Clarence, then took it and ran with it!

Sorry, but where I grew up, everybody who played acoustic guitar knew that the game had changed forever, with this album

Tony wasn’t using 58957 on this recording. He was using one of his ovations. Amazing how similar he can make them sound.

Yeah, same with Glenn Campbell, but the other way around w the Ovations and whatever else he picked up. The great picker shines through and brings out the best in any guitar they play.

Tony Rice was a true master of the guitar. He played country/bluegrass and at times added a progressive jazz feel to it. Rice played with sophistication and complexity. Here he is accompanied by some of the best in Jerry Douglas, Ricky Skaggs, Sam Bush and David Grisman. While I would give the edge to Tony as the best verall, Josh Williams is not far behind in talent nor is Billy Strings.

what a shirt!

Hey! I wore a shirt like that to my high school dance back in the late 1970's, and my girlfriend thought I looked hot! (...should tell you how old I am...) Wish I had one-thousandth of the guitar talent that Tony has!
