I had the pleasure of seeing Tony Rock live and he is a really good comedian. However regarding Monique and the issue of equal pay or comparative pay, I disagree with him. He contradicted himself in saying if he knew shorty got a $100M then he would know where to start at...Now isn't that counting other peoples money? If we dont know the market (meaning counting other people's money), how will we know if we are being low balled? Have some resolve and be resolute.
@QueenZParker7 жыл бұрын
DIXI FREELY I literally looked to see if someone caught that before I commented on it! 👏👏👏 Exactly! Contradiction at its finest! Unfortunately, we pull each other down. Other races/ethnicities just sit back and watch. #ItPastTimeForUsToDoBetter ~Queen~

I think he meant he would use that info in negotiations with the company and not take it to Social Media. Just like any Job. If you know how much they paid the person before you. You are going to use that info to get your money up when its your time to negotiate.
@BatDad-qu4fo7 жыл бұрын
Az D Exactly. He's basically mentioning what most people know as market value, so knowing the market value for a job is a good thing. However, just because others get well ABOVE market value, doesn't mean everyone will get that same pay. In most people's lives, if they feel they're offered below what they feel they're worth, they would either just negotiate or decline the offer altogether.
@QueenZParker7 жыл бұрын
Az D That's what Monique did. She didn't turn to social media until there wasn't any more negotiations. I don't agree with how she presented it, but hey, no one is perfect. I would have liked for her to have asked her supporters to bombard Netflix social media and email them. I'm not a fan of the boycott because we would be boycotting the other Black people who use that platform. To pretend as if that pay scale isn't a significant difference, is just preposterous. ~Queen~
@QueenZParker7 жыл бұрын
Himura82 She did decline the offer. "Come back with your best offer. " Netflix ended the negotiations. Sure she could have kept her mouth closed like Wanda Sykes did, never say anything and move on to the next. However, if we just keep moving on to the next and keeping our mouths closed, when will we ever get what's FAIR? Wanda was offered $250 thousand Amy receives 12.75 million more. Is that fair? (Check both of their resumes) ~Queen~

Love the interview,but he contridicated himself by saying he was taught to not count other people's money and then turned around and said well it's good comedians make money so then I can say well such and such got this so I should get this. That's exactly what Monique was doing.
@officiallytera68316 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Henry Right! He also contradicted himself when he said she should've called him instead of going to Social media. But he didn't mind not calling her when TMZ baited him with the Monique bit. I'm glad somebody else was paying attention. I've always liked Tony Rock. He's funny as hell and seems cool. Doesn't come off extra to be funny. Just a regular round the way kinda guy whose funny. Good interview.
