We KNOW what's going on, but we are still mesmerized. Slydini was awesome. What a gifted magician and showman.

Slydini was the greatest! Among magicians, he was without equal. Many of the great ones said that they could not be fooled anymore by anyone but Slydini. He invented closeup magic, and his influence will always be remembered. Take Care, Good Buddy!

People... THIS is magic. Even though when you can SEE what's done, it still amaze us. And that is the spirit of true magic, Slydini, you're great.
@MTGmagik13 жыл бұрын
Wow slydini seems comes across as a very likable and confident guy. I don't know how but he has a sense of humbleness about him. It's very easy to make the volunteer feel victimized but Slydini just has this presence that doesn't make the volunteer feel this. I can't really explain it but he is one great showman and I only wish I could have been alive a few decades before I was to see him perform...

It still is! Magic is more popular now than ever before, and thats a good thing because Magicians will pay to see Magicians more than most people! I've seen Burton 4 times, and D.C 6! Magic has become a lot more socialy acceptable in recent years.

Do not understand how there can be people who press 'dislike'. It is an incredible "effect" which Slydini achieved with such a simple trick. No doubt they are people who understand nothing of what is magic.
@Katalyzt6 жыл бұрын
Hello Magia y Curiosidades by JM, The 'dislikes' are more likely due to the poor quality of the video than Slydini`s performance. Example: here is the same performance but clear: tinyurl.com/y9wewg5l Katalyzt

I have done this routine at bars, right at the tables. I use the napkins on the table and it goes over great. This is a fantastic effect to learn and perform at parties and get togethers. However you need to actually learn this and not just copy what you see. There is a lot going on here that you are unaware of and that is what makes this such a great effect. And so much fun.

I hope when im old as hom my skills have totally reched there potential and scince the new mellenia approaches what wonders we will see in magic how magic would transform itself in something bigger than us and us magicians loving it as always the legend the master.

Fantastic routine . The person in the chair becomes so self conscious from the first time he misses the paper ball that he would hardly see anything . That is the mental effect the magician has on the participant .

Standard rule yes. But part of being a transcendent master is knowing when and how to break the rules. I can show you parallel fifths in Bach's counterpoint. He knew when and how to make it work. Similarly with Slydini. He was above the "rules" that us mere mortals cling to.
@seadawg9317 жыл бұрын
sometimes. So far I've found that the audience is just cracking up at the trick, and the person I am doing it for thinks they are laughing because they don't know where the ball went either. This way the audience and the person reinforce each other.

By far the funniest trick in Magic ever. Slydini has such class. He was just on a another level. Other great versions of this are from Copperfield and Earl Presto. But they all pale in comparison. Another note is Slydini never asks "which hand right or left" like most magicians do. Its much harder to do it Slydini's way as there is no time misdirection.

Interesting topic of both of you. Today, it is true that a lot of magicians pay in order to see magic. But, at the same time, because of media and even because of some (many) "magicians" (i.e. youtube too), in commonsense and for "ordinary people" magic means puzzle or simple tricks. No, effects, no surprises, no suspence, no emotions, no "magical atmosfere" (Ascanio). It's a shame.
