I've always enjoyed listening to how Commander Clifford went to Tony's bosses and informed them what would happen if Tony crossed the line. Not to mention how Spilotro tried to act tough in front of Clifford and then been taken aback by how Clifford responded to him bragging about their numbers.

True story: One of the Spiloto brothers was a dentist in a very small farming community about 100 miles south of Chicago, where I grew up. He was well respected in the community and had a big house and kids the same age as me back in the 70s going thru school My sister was one of his dental assistants, and he treated all his employees with respect, he even performed dental surgery for my dad, pro bono.....Then one day, it was like lights out He and his family skipped town literally over night....come to find out much later (news was slow back then)....his brother was killed about 30 miles northeast of us in Indiana.....never found out where he went....we (the town) never had a clue he had family members in the mob....

He was probably going to be find, he wasn't a Wiseguy, but Michael was being groomed by Tony. However, Outfit back in those days were both ruthless and they generally infiltrated Cook County/Chicago & IL state politics. Look into a name: Fred Roti & Pat Marcy (Pasquale Marciano), that'll give you the true idea of why they left overnight.

Your information towards the end of this is partly true. Spilotro did NOT order a hit on his childhood friend Frank Cullotta . There is known recording of Spilotro talking to the Chicago Outfit specifically about the Bertha's Jewelry break in attempt. The Outfits response was "You know what you have to do with your dirty laundry" . THAT is what prompted Spilotro to proceed with an attempted hit , as opposed to deciding it on his own. It was then that the FBI had Cullotta listen to the recording, cooperate , then go in the WPP - witness protection program, then fled to Alabama for years. Lastly, the Spilotro brothers were NOT "beaten to death" in the basement of that Chicago home. They were still alive when they were buried. Pathologist reported that dirt was found in both of their lungs, indicating that they were still breathing. This is what happens when British write about American stories.

The documentary got it wrong at 3mins.40seconds. It was Billy McCarthy and Jimmy Miraglia who had killed brothers Ron & Phil Scavo and another woman friend named Lydia Abshire. The Scavo brothers had family ties to the Chicago Mob with their father being a friend of Tony 'Big Tuna' Accardo, the main boss of the Chicago Mob around this time. Talk about making up your own rules! This was not good as causing this amount of noise in a mob neighbourhood would bring heat from law enforcement. The first man killed was Billy McCarthy & the second man was named as James Miraglia. Tony was supposedly responsible for the deaths of these men with help from other mob members Chuckie Crimaldi, Mad Sam DeStefano, Milwaukee Phil Alderisio and Chuck Nicoletti. Milwaukee Phil and Chuck Nicoletti did a lot of the Chicago Mobs dirty work of killing during the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Like all criminals, their idea of "honor" is a complete joke, they use the word to try and justify there existence. The same for cons and street punks with "Death Before Dishonor" tatts, they have no real concept of the word. I can't believe that some people actually admire mobsters, they're all lowlifes. I say this having known a few, as a young boy, they were often at family functions (birthday parties, etc.), they would put stuff a $20, sometimes a $50 (a huge amount of money in the 50s) in my pocket and tell me to buy some candy with it. I wasn't aware what they did until I was in my teens and I'd see them on the news or read about them in the Chicago Trib. My "Uncle Sam" was Sam Giancana, even though he wasn't a real uncle, he was related somehow on my mom's side. They may seem like the nicest and sweetest people, but in real life they are truly heartless, getting their feet in the door of legit businesses and squeezing them dry, juice loans, killing people without blinking an eye.

I think you missed the part where tony threatened visitors and residents in las vegas via muggings, burgularies and robberies. Also tony killed innocent people who threatened the skim.
