Us folk who were young back in the day need to salute Tony Wilson, introduced so much culture to a movement that was based on hedonism. He could be a pretentious bugger but he was so important

a lot of the social commentary in it is becoming current again, and the stuff about banks trapping you into a debt cycle will always be relevant (well, until capitalism ends anyway!)

Thanks again for this. Is there any chance you have the episode of Have I got News for You were there is a question about the K-Foundation's intervention with the Turner Prize? It was with guests Jimmy Tarbuck and Vitali Vitaliev, and broadcast 26th November 1993?

I haven't come across that recording. I've got a fair few editions of HIGNFY in my collection, though, and I haven't checked all of them yet. Check out my blog, where I list everything that's on every tape - I'll mention it if I come across it. vhistory.wordpress.com/

Is this the same Tony Wilson I’ve watched interviewing peter hammill in 2008 on a cherry red production? Bill has aged but he’s still an older version but the flashy guy on this doesn’t resemble my Tony talking to prog rock actual real no shit legend ,hammill. Pls someone educate me a tad. Cheers

BD must be a positive thing about Thatcherism then. My missus ( well I don’t own her) bought our council house against my wishes. Now it may be worth a few bob but it will need a super fucking expensive whole new roof in a few yrs. And you still need a house to be in however much u flog it for. And the wirings 45 yrs old. So Bill is the one sensible ‘product’ from that ideology . And the premier league if u get billion pound sports. Love to all from the seaside
