Yayo did a great job of collecting his thoughts and providing context before answering the question. Glad tried to speed him up hoping to get a click bait title “Yayo says he wouldn’t give Gunna a verse.” He respectfully said no, but as able to explain his why. This is exactly what I mean when I say 99% of these people don’t understand the law, these shady DA’s and Lawyers and the streets. Yayo is speaking straight FACTS. Gunna was sitting for almost a year. Your lawyer worked out a deal behind the scenes and telling you to go in there and say yes. You paid to listen to the advice of legal counsel, or he could’ve REPRESENTED HIMSELF. If I’m taking the lawyers direction, I’m assuming he has my best interest at heart. The lawyer fucked up. The defense for Thug and Gunna didn’t have a plan to work on this together, they’re each working for their individual client. If you ever been indicted you know. An attorney doesn't MAKE you do anything. People get up on the stand and completely sabotage a case and blindside a lawyer by refusing to talk after plans had been made for months. He definitely told/cooperated... but it don't mean he don't make great music though. The 2 things can be separated.
@dangermauz754 Жыл бұрын

@@dangermauz754 you literally have not disproven nothing I said as a matter of fact you are not making sense and sounding ignorant. You said "lawyers are paid to give you understanding of what your charges are and the options you have"..... none of that means you HAVE to do what they say. Being your own attorney in this situation is a moot point because we are talking about the prosecution NOT the defense. In this case the prosecutor is who questioned Gunna and read his statement. He agreed to a plea. You are not forced to take a plea or cooperate but he chose to plead guilty and take the plea... openly and comply with everything the prosecution said his statement was under oath. He said YSL is a gang that needs to end and he has personal knowledge of crimes, he said the guns and drugs wasn't his when he was stopped with Thug etc. Then he was released. That can be used against the defense (Young Thug) in judicial proceedings. Mind you... he could have said all that is false and went to a cell.
@dangermauz754 Жыл бұрын
@KontryBoy706 this video is talking about his own lawyer. Not, the prosecution. So, from what I understood from your comment. You sounded like you were saying his OWN lawyer can't make him do anything. So, in my view from that perspective, of course it didn't make sense. What was the point of having a lawyer? If you hire legal counsel, you are paying them to negotiate with the prosecutor. So, yeah, he signed a legally binding agreement with the prosecutor.. Hell yeah, they would MAKE him testify. Because, he signed that paperwork. And, if he decided to abandon it. He'd still be in jail. I wasn’t slow to what you said. I'm guilty of making an assumption.
@KontryBoy706 Жыл бұрын
@@dangermauz754 no problem. It could have been my own wording. But even with that being said... misunderstanding or not... no lawyer made him do anything... he decided to do it. Yes, he hired his lawyers, and they can go on his behalf to seek a plea deal... he still has the final say to take that plea or not. That part when you said... "What was the point of having a lawyer? If you hire legal counsel, you are paying them to negotiate with the prosecutor. So, yeah, he signed a legally binding agreement with the prosecutor." Once again. He decided to go that route and when it was offered, he agreed. He decided to sign that "legally binding agreement". He decided to get on the stand and say everything they read was his sworn statement. He was in full control. No lawyer on either side "made" him do anything. He could have not taken a plea deal in the first place... OR he could have got on the stand and said none of those things are true in that statement and take me to my cell. Which is why after every statement they ask, "is this your sworn testimony?" He was in full control of what he chose to do.

Gunnas never really been in trouble so he didn't quite understand how the legal system worked when he was in it. Reading in between the lines of him saying why am I paying this lawyer all these millions, it's evident he was told by his lawyer that whatever he did in his plead deal wouldn't effect Thug at all. I was inclined also to believe that Gunna probably didn't know what kind of statements were in the plea deal. However from what I read about the Alford plea the judge has to make sure certain conditions are met. One of those conditions is the plea must be entered Knowingly and Intelligently. This means that the person who is entering the plea fully understands what they are doing and why they are asking for the plea. This made me less inclined to believe he had not seen the statements because the Lawyer has to make sure the client knows what the plea is for and be entering it with full intelligence. I could tell though with each answer he read in the plea he was pausing and thinking about what he was doing. Like Damn this shit sound bad! Lawyer told me it won't effect Thug though and I wont have to testify so Im going to just trust him. Whoever leaked that video though fucked up everything.

He had already agreed to the plea. Don’t y’all know that over 90% of cases end plea deals? Whether it be state of federal. That means 9/10 people who catch cases are “snitching”. Y’all don’t understand how the judicial systems works. Lawyers will always fight for their clients to either get the case dismissed, not guilty, acquittal, or plea deal. If the DA has good and or solid evidence, more likely than not you’re going to have to take a plea deal. You’d be stupid not too.

Everything that Gunna plead to, can be argued against by a first year law student. It will have no impact on Thug’s case, since he has the best lawyer in the south. Brian Steel will be able to create reasonable doubt on everything Gunna plead to. Meanwhile Gunna is home and making money for Thug’s defense. I’m a civilian, but if you strip all of the emotion of your man getting out first, Gunna’s plea doesn’t really hurt Thug imo.

Your lawyer and DA are present when you sign the plea, your lawyer is there to explain any terminology that went by your head.. That paperwork was signed and explained prior to that hearing. My theory. Is that his lawyer explained to him that it was an alford plea. And that his statements can’t be used against any codefendants, so he could go ahead and say yes to everything. He probably didn’t know what questions would be asked but knew his plea would not affect anyone else🤷🏾♂️ that’s the only LOGICAL explanation I can think of.

Yayo is right. When they asked Gunna those questions, it’s not like he can try to renegotiate the terms of this plea. It’s either way what they want or fuck up the whole deal and get on the bad side of the court. What he said wasn’t incriminating enough to do that.

Saying yes to everything is incriminating someone else. You can’t pick and choose who you label a rat. Telling is telling. You can’t hate on 69 and love Gunna. Be a man and stand on what you believe in and don’t make excuses for anyone period. Cause regardless of what all of these internet people say in the comments. If Gunna was to go back to the joint hit record or not. It wouldn’t be safe for him, the wolves will be waiting, in their eyes he’s a rat.
