I used to work at a place that rolled their waffle cones by hand. We had to bake the cone, then slowly roll it with a tool into a hollow cone (basically like the thing they use but hand-operated) and leave it sitting there with the seam at the bottom till it got stuck together. It was tedious as hell.

As an ex farmer. You don't have a clue. An idealized Disney dream. A few acres means primarily hand, stoop labour since the economics wouldn't support any specialized harvesting equipment, and, no custom harvesters would bother to service you, you'd be uneconomic for them as well. Your response, I grow vegetables on my balcony. Wow. Nothing wrong with doing that, in fact, it's good, but, it doesn't prepare you to grow acres of vegetables. Farming is not the simple life urban apartment dwellers envision. It's highly skilled with a myriad of necessary skill sets, complex multi year planning, trying to predict future ecomic forces, long hours, razor thin margins dependent on unpredictable conditions out of your control, capital intensive, dangerous, I could go on but I hope you see the point. My suggestion is you find a local allotment if you want to grow more. Then see how well you keep up the weeding on 100-200sq ft.
