Excellent message for us ladies to adhere to. I gave to a narcissist, affirmation, building him up. When you build them up, they think they got you!! They think they can play you. However, like Tony said, there are red flags. You may not see them at first, but they're there. Don't dwell in that negative space, ladies. There are good men out there!!

The same holds true for our relationship with the Lord God. He desires our praise and affirmation. He is amazing! 💯

That is also true!! I was thinking about it lately! God is orderly in all He does... that explains why He built the environment with all we need to live, then He created the man, to depend on God and steward His blessings... then God saw it good to create a woman to be the man's ideal helper... both are dependant on God !

Good morning Tony, thank you for making this video. You are ABSOLUTELY right! I am a teacher, and whenever I had to teach male students of all ages, I noticed how much things changed when I affirmed them, appreciated their effort and progress.... they experienced a massive transformation and were able to overcome challenges that were more suited for older/more advanced students. By the way, the once a week is very true too 😁, if you do it daily, it ends being taken for granted and more damaging than good. Men need a one sincere, genuine and able to understand logically when speaking to them! If this happens with male students... it happens to men in general. Affection can be shown in so many different ways, a simple rub of your hand on his back when you are with other couples and he is speaking... is such a blessing, a look in the eye and smile, a soft stroke on his face... the little things speak volumes. Show that you are a team, that he has your back and admiration, respect.... it is a great example also for our children and younger people to witness more of this healthy behaviour. Thank you Tony, I loved it, not bland, just transparent and rightly so, this way there is no room for the devil to mess up! God bless you and your family.

This makes so much sense. I have been married for 36 years. Honestly, I have not been affirming my husband lately, nor giving him basic affection, and that is wrong of me. This is a good reminder for us wives to do what we VOWED to do, til death do us part. My husband works hard and takes good care of me. I will begin to do this from today on, with the Lord's help.

I know exactly that connection you're speaking of. It's a beautiful thing when a man and woman have that special connection where everybody around knows they belong together, and respect it. Other than my faith, my man would always be the center of my focus, affirmation, care and appreciation. Things do happen but you have to see those infrequent instances for what they are. We tie in with who we can feel good about and yes, the desire should be mutual.❤

RE:14:44 We should let go of childhood trauma before we get married. I would actually say that before you marry someone, get counseling together for at least 9 months or more. It may not be a complete cure, but it should help both parties comprehend what each other needs to make the marriage successful. From experience: I wish I would have done this.

Great video Tony, and very very true! A church mentor told me the same thing, the top 3 things men need in a relationship are respect, affirmation/admiration, and sex. I remember hearing that for every negative comment there should be 5 positive comments said to balance the criticism, and that was the trick a NBA or maybe NFL coach would do to produce optimal results from his players (who, understandably, had big egos haha). And because men are more wired to protect their status in their social circles, it def does make it harder for them to go against the grain, as you say, of socially accepted practices (like watching and sharing porn, buying sex, and being promiscuous) that are in truth ultimately rooted in sin. And additionally, because men are socialized to not show emotion/express their feelings and just be expected to "do man things", it means we should take care all the more to speak words of encouragement and appreciation to men, esp those we see trying. We literally need nurture and physical touch as babies in order to grow and survive, and that need never goes away from men. Inside every man is a little boy who still loves hearing "Great job!" or "I'm so proud of you for XYZ!" and enjoys a hug or other similar touch of affection. Thanks for sharing Tony, I enjoyed this video!
