Best advice ever as far as the self-love, and loving your own first before you can love another. The self-hate talk is so important for young black youth. The societal promotion of 'white superiority' messes with our children's minds and self esteem. Even plays a part in colorization in our ethnic group. Light is right. It can be frustrating. Making life changing-soul tying choices such as marrying someone because you hate the skin you are in does not equate to being happy in that relationship.

I was his second grade teacher, yes he was a good hearted kid... On the fiance I didn't get a good vibe from her (it's what I said in my inner when they spoke on their proposal) and then all this came out. I was asking God is this you speaking loudly to him, I only cared because this was a fun loving kid and yeah he didn't have much and still seems humble and not flashy. So, who knows. Her explanation she said made since, but I also saw the money sign on her finger. Where I have to disagree with you regarding your explanation is that females of Travis' girlfriend's phenotype, aren't "typically" and in large numbers, attracted to Travis' particular "phenotype".
