I grew up in a very conservative Christian household (white). My mom definitely had a mindset of servitude to my dad. Things were peaceful but I don't think he truly appreciated her, and part of that was because my mom does not appreciate herself enough. I was scared of marriage because I thought you had to submit to a man like this. In my last relationship I did cook for him and let him borrow my car, stay in my apartment..Craziest thing was it was a situationship. Now I see that that is not how it should work and reciprocity is essential. The man must lead in love to get love back.

This is exactly why it's important for women to have positive fathers or father figures in their lives and vice versa when growing up. To teach us the value of self respect, self worth and how we should be treated as well as how we should treat others while maintaining and reinforcing our healthy boundaries. I'm simply saying that it is important for a parent/respectable figure of the opposite sex to give lessons based on experience and perception as an opposite gender i.e. practical versus theory. Men know the intention of men and vice versa. Parents are suppose to teach these values not only the mother.

I had to watch the beginning a couple times. I understand that it is harder to see the red flags when you are going through to it. This is why healing is important; slow down... no app and no dating; take time and do some deep healing and cleansing and self-love❤️🙏

There comes a point in life when you have to stop the series of bad choices, analyze what is the reason why they happened and decide what to do from now on to prevent any more similar situations. It has to become embedded in you, the same way you look left and right before crossing the street and you know you have to do it for your safety and protection, you have to look left right up and down at who you're dealing with, get to know the person and their intentions before jumping in a relationship, again, for your own safety and protection. Don't let everything that you went through teach you nothing and your entire life be just a series of repeated situations with different characters but the same storyline where you give and they take, where you love and they don't, just stop and say "no more from today on" and start loving and putting yourself first. Become confident that you deserve to be loved, respected and valued for who you are, regardless of your shape and size and make your life so great that a man has to work and convince you to accept being with him rather than single.

Unfortunately, this is a very common scenario in many African countries...breeding hurt and brokenness that is passed from generation to generation. Unfortunately alot of women find themselves in these types of situations because like you said the world has beat her down and she doesn’t feel enough.
