I think ultra beat is pretty cool, engineering wise your own drums, but most people drop samples nowdays, noon wants to synthesise, tweak it. Iam new to logic x, just started 2 weeks ago, I find it pretty slow workflow, but slowly. I run m2 pro 16gb, it really is very smooth machine, my first Mac.

thats a really neat way to do it, definitely trying it out soon. i just used to take a normal stereo Ultrabeat and separate by note pitch after copying my pattern into the playlist. What you can then do is just select the first ultra beat channel and cmd D to duplicate it as many times as you need and drag the other regions onto these channels. this way you can also treat them individually. But great video anyways and fire sample btw!!
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Hey good shout regarding using CMD D! There’s nothing wrong with using more than one UB, I just prefer to do it this way because of two reasons. 1) saves you CPU if you’re making bigger projects 2) gives you a full step sequencer to work with rather than guessing where the other UB notes are. Thanks for watching+ the comment 🙌🤙

This is the most helpful Logic tutorial I've ever watched! Thank you for sharing this. I am running into one small issue though, and that is, when I move the regions to the new tracks (built from the mixer), and then delete the original tracks, I lose sound. Like, the instances are still there, but they don't make any sound. When I ctrl+z and bring the old empty tracks back, the sound comes back. If anyone is familiar with this issue, I'd really appreciate the assist. (In the meantime, I've just been leaving the empty original tracks undeleted.)

@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Hey Cam! I’ve collected quite a few since I started producing music a couple years ago. The best place to find em in my opinion would be this order: Basic: Google search. free samples... some good, some not so good but there are some gems for sure Better: reddit, r/drumkits. The nice thing about drumskits is people are typically upvoting and commenting on the best ones so you don’t need to sift through them as much. Best: Splice. These are premium samples made by proper sound designers/artists at not a bad price. Plus you can find some of your favourite artists packs and use their sounds which is the appeal for me. Hope this helped, good luck with the sample hunt! Tony

@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
@@BassCovers1234 Haha I will say that mine is geared towards people that are starting out since it has a lot of samples for different genres. Tbh, if you're just starting the Logic sounds are more than good enough. Just sift through em and find which ones you like. Other than that just try and make music that you're interested in and eventually you'll expand to another genre and so on....

I make indie pop mostly though I just did a project that was more rock for licensing. Someone else is mixing it though. I still have plenty to learn on the engineering front. I usually do all the demoing then co-produce with a few people. Long answer 🤦🏼♀️ 😬

This ended up becoming a lesson in sampling for me as well. I wanted to use your audio track so that I could actually have something to work with while learning Ultrabeat. I screen recorded your video with my phone, brought the video into Logic, trimmed the ends off and changed the bpm to match the tempo of your track, and then threw in the beat from Ultrabeat that you just showed us how to make. It worked perfectly.

Happy you found it helpful Zac 🤙 the beauty of multi-output is you can apply it to a lot of soft synths as well and it makes for a good workflow and grouping if you know how to use it properly. If you’re strictly planning on using it for the step sequencer, I wouldn’t get too comfortable with it for now... im making all new videos for the 10.5 update and how to use the new plugins, so stay tuned!
