They stopped selling it but the Fujifilm Instax SQ6 is my favourite - you can still find it on places like Amazon. It's the SQ1 with more features, more control, ability to do a timer, turn off flash, double exposure and all sorts. It's the perfect Instant Camera - don't know why they stopped selling it.

How in the world did you not review the insta mini evo in this video? Having the lcd on the back and choice to print which one you want seems like the ultimate pick.
@MariusLucianNEAG29 күн бұрын
I opened the comments just to ask for this. The INSTAX mini Evo is technically a hibryd camera. It takes digital photos (2 megapixels) and prints them like a instant camera. So it's more like 2-in-1 (digital camera + printer). Looking at the photos presented in the video, I think the EVO handles the exposure better, it doesn't look goofy and has many advantages over the regular instant cameras. I like the fact that you can backup the digital version of you photos, or that you can use it as a printer to print photos taken with a phone. I'm surprised it's not even mentioned in this video.

I recently swapped my Polaroid for an Instax square and I'm so much happier with it. The results are much better and the film is cheaper. What I like about the Polaroid is the size of the photo. It's a bit larger than instax square, but quality wise the Fuji wins.

I would've liked to see your opinions on the Mint Instax cameras. I have the TL70+ and while it is wildly expensive for an Instax camera - it really is quite the head turner! The way it prints out the film seems like magic to people when it first happens too cause it's not obvious as to where the film is gonna come out. I think it being a twin lens reflex makes it a really fun experience too. It reignited interest in photography for me over this summer when I felt I had lost all interest. It isn't a run and go type of camera though - each shot really requires some fine tuning. Which I think adds to the experience but can make it not as fun for people who want run n gun party photos.

Here is an idea for a great instax camera. Have a sensor that first captures the image digitally, which then allows you to print as many copies - in camera- as desired via the actual camera,. @jwbarsbyАй бұрын
I’ve got two Polaroid cameras, and they do suck compared to Fuji. It’s a shame that they weren’t able to figure out how to recreate the original formula as that was better than Instax. They should go back to the drawing board and come up with something that works faster and more consistently.
@germansaez29 күн бұрын
@@jwbarsby they are doing that all the time. Current film emulsion is great. A lot of people is taking amazing photos with Polaroid cameras and film. The problem is when you depend on Photoshop and digital to create a “good” image (mostly plastic and artificial like the ones they do), of course you are gonna suck taking analog photos.
@jwbarsby29 күн бұрын
@@germansaez Bad Polaroids aren’t the always the fault of the photographer. To get reasonably good colours you need to develop the film at exactly the right temperature. This isn’t easy when you live in the U.K. and it’s always cold. Also the requirement of keeping each image in the dark for 15 minutes negates the whole idea of it being instant photography. I can develop a roll of 35mm film faster than that lol. Another issue I’ve had is fractal patterns appearing in the corners of images, due to the chemicals not spreading correctly. Instax doesn’t have any of these issues, it just works every time, with better colour and much better contrast. Let’s face it, this isn’t some high art form (Shoot film or digital for that) Instant photography is supposed to be fun and Polaroid is just awkward to use, expensive and often gives disappointing results.

Yeah, impossible bought out the last Polaroid film factory with the caveat that they don't get to use the name or get the recipe for the film. Then I guess were aquired by "Polaroid" 🙄 who obviously didn't have the recipe to correct the film being off by six stops or the ability to terminate the chemical reaction in film. Fuji is definitely the way to go right now. The resolving power of Fuji film is undercut by all these machines though, even their own. They are fun to shoot though
@YeahItsThatBad29 күн бұрын
Instant cameras look good on paper, but the quality of the images that they make do not justify the high price point. You are better off using that money on 35mm film.

I think with HDR, you only want to get "beyond SDR range" for naturally bright things like lights, sun or the sky. Even the cameras and white text look they're emitting light. Some scenes render highlights, even the cyan camera or light greys, like clipped whited blobs. Windows + HDR1000 display here
