I think this is actually a concert I was at myself. I have never heard of them before and my friend invited me so we went there. My first thoughts were "oh and now they clean the stage before the group comes?" And then suddenly those Brooms rhythms would not let me stand still anymore haha. That was an amazing experience. But then I also was totally led in blind as I did not know what kind of performers they were. That was one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen in my life.

I love Stomp! but its kind of ironic that I do: one day in fourth grade general music we had a free day, and the teacher gave us the option of watching either Fantasia or Stomp. Since my mom is a violinist I thought I was SO COOL to love orchestra so I was practically yelling "I love Fantasia drumming is so stupid let's watch Fantasia!!!" We ended up watching Stomp, and I was super salty. The irony is that five years later I'm a percussionist planning to go into music as a career, and that the teacher is now my choir director.

The broom rhythms created by Stomp actually may have a story to it. If you look at their outfits, they are styled as if they have been used as cleaning clothes, and at the beginning, the first person to appear acts as if he is just sweeping. Then he begins to tap out simple beats, and more of his friends join him. This, in turn, creates more elaborate rhythms. My personal take on the story is they are a group that is cleaning after another band's show and though they are not part of the actual show, they decided something along the lines of "Hey, we can make music too." And so, they mix work with music, creating a unique, distinct style. Also, if you look at each of the rhythms Stomp has made, each element corresponds to another, creating clues to the story of each one.
@LycaWatyre9 жыл бұрын
Christian Dillon I see that too. Dude in the shorts is "new guy" so they pick on him a little. To me, it's some people making their job more tolerable. In brooms, they're arriving to work. They greet each-other and get down to business, then start to goof around as the show progresses. Newspapers is when they're on break. XD
@Stephanie-oi5wy6 жыл бұрын
Flamaren Connors then how do they know what to play because you said (hey let play a song with brooms) and they just played and it went the same beat can they read each other minds?😕😏im not hating on you comment btw that was a great STORY sorry bye now and they are not broom that much its just the same spot
@pasteltbhk3 жыл бұрын
@@Stephanie-oi5wy I mean it's not gonna be 100% perfect, it's a story, if they were saying "Hey let's make a rhythm" then obviously the music people would be ruined by the talking. No offence.
