Thank you, Tony, for this review! I have mulcher envy, and where we live now, I don't have brush to clear. You have a hit in prep and maintenance of your place.
@garywilliam19482 күн бұрын
Fabricating an attachment to lean the brush over as you back up would be a solution to prevent it from hitting the driver. Here's a breakdown of how you could approach this: 1. Determine the Mechanism: Simple Hinge: A basic hinge attached to the brush head could allow it to pivot upwards as you reverse. You could use a spring to return the brush to its normal position. Weight-Activated Mechanism: A weight attached to the brush head could cause it to tilt upwards when the brush is moved backwards. This could be more responsive to the direction of movement. Cam System: A cam attached to the brush head could interact with a fixed surface on the machine. As you reverse, the cam would lift the brush head.

Baumalight can take my money right now. Since I first seen your 1st video on the MP348, I have been hoping they would come out with a smaller version that would pair up well with the T25. Tony if you get any info on pricing, or a possible release date, I would appreciate if you could keep us up to speed. I am hoping that they can keep it in the $7500 to $8500 range, but I am guessing that it will be similar to the pricing of the MX330 since it basically that with a PTO and 3 point attachment. Thanks for the video Tony. The place is looking good.

Thanks for the video Tony. Interesting product. While I'd love a forestry mulcher I've found that my flail mower (with hammer blades) can do everything I need to clear forest - and it mows (at probably a lower price). Obviously can't handle the same thickness trees but chainsaws handle those easily enough. Maybe this comparison would be a good video to make.

I was so hoping that was going to work. But 25hp tractors just don’t have the power 😢, it was bogging down with leaves and twigs. And really couldn’t mulch the small dead trees. That’s too bad. Maybe a heavier drum that could keep the spinning momentum going. Good review as always Tony
@TonysTractorAdventure6 күн бұрын
I absolutely disagree. Even the largest skid steer mulchers bog down. They have to back away and let the unit spin back up just like a tractor. I find it to be absolutely outstanding. It sure beats doing it by hand.

Would a BX be able to lift it high enough. Looks like the T25 ( with larger rear tires) only lifts it a few inches off the ground.

The trajectory of the BX is different. It should be fine.
@bryankilgore175 күн бұрын
Can you use it on a front pto?
@googacct19 күн бұрын
Definitely an interesting idea, but I think I would be reluctant to attach that to my compact tractor. Even though it looks like it does have a drive shaft with a clutch, I would be afraid that the shocks that could come through that would be hard on the drive train.
@TonysTractorAdventure19 күн бұрын
I can understand your concern about the shock, but it really works well. It is kinda what a PTO is made to do. Transfer power.
@gckshea19 күн бұрын
Set your slip clutch properly -- maintain it, slip it at least annually and verify it indeed is not locked up. That's what it's for

Hi Tony, I live a bit south of you in the beautiful hills of Tennessee. I am waiting until the weather breaks to pick up a 2515 but was considering to bump up the HP just because I need a mulcher to build and maintain trails on my property. The mp560 can go 1inch in the ground but you would need a class two rear PTO minimum 50 horsepower and 40 at the PTO and it costs about little over $20,000
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
The mp348 is 48 in made for 40 horsepower tractors and below. I have had mine for over 3 years with at least 200 plus hours. I have had no breakdowns or issues. It's virtually indestructible.

@travissullivan524513 күн бұрын
Does this model have any sort of interial flywheel to help maintain rpm when grinding?
@TonysTractorAdventure12 күн бұрын
Just the weight of the cutter head. It is very heavy for this small of a tractor. It is built for subcompact tractors. The smallest ones can only lift 670 pound on the three point hitch. Every pound counts.
@weeweed8619 күн бұрын
Was any of that you cut privet....? Our place is covered in it.

I don't think we have any of that. We have a lot of the stuff called ironwood. It is ridiculous.
@lostmanamiga3818 күн бұрын
how would something like this deal with rocks? I don't have a lot, but I would defiantly hit the occasional rock if I am skimming the surface and it is digging a few inches the ground
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
Obviously, Rock would cause wear sooner than what we have. Still, it has carbide cutters.
@Mainelyoffgrid19 күн бұрын
You think this is too small for a 3515h? Or should I just go bigger?
@TonysTractorAdventure19 күн бұрын
I think it would work fine as far as horsepower however I think you would be disappointed with the tractor being so much wider than the implement is.

Will a 2501 Kubota run the 48" mulcher effectively?
@TonysTractorAdventure2 күн бұрын
I would probably not think it would. I put it on 2 25 horsepower tractors. The results are less than stellar.
@grapnel872 күн бұрын
which one would your recommend for your 2515?
@TonysTractorAdventureКүн бұрын
I would recommend either. The MP348 needs more HP. The MP330 is to lightly built for the weight of the 2515. It would bend it. I love the 2515, but it is a compromise tractor. You have the weight of a bigger tractor but the HP of a small tractor.
@johnhurd754018 күн бұрын
Can you drive over stuff to mulch it or do you have to back into everything
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
It is primarily meant to back into brush; however, you can go forward over small stuff to smooth and re-much.
@dylantriplett159719 күн бұрын
Just can’t help but think this will tear the tractor apart. Between constant bogging and shooting tree bits underneath only a matter of time before something breaks. T25 looks like it handles those hills well though.
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
It's kind of what the pto is meant to do. The way it's set up I would consider this to be much less aggressive than a tiller. It has a slip clutch and a spring-loaded Kevlar belt.
@Asimplelife113 күн бұрын
Which would you choose with the 2515?
@TonysTractorAdventure13 күн бұрын
There is not a good match for the 2515. It is as big as a 40 hp tractor, but with only 25hp. The new MP330 is to small and uses lighter weight material around the lift area to save weight. This weight savings is done so a BX2680 can lift the unit. I think the 2515 would destroy the MP330 and the MP348 requires to much HP. I have tried the MP348 on the 2515. It works, but it would be disappointing for the money spent. A 3515/4815/T474 would be a better match for the MP348

What happens when it picks up a large rock?

Just like any mulcher. Rocks wear the teeth down faster. We don't have rocks.
@kennethlowe633719 күн бұрын
Nice mulcher Tony but you might want to install a pto clutch shaft on it before you destroy your tractor. 🇺🇸👍
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. It has a PTO slip clutch and also a spring loaded Kevlar belt. It is probably safer to operate than a 5-ft tiller.
@jeffburgeson349018 күн бұрын
Just my opinion, it would drive me nuts working slow. Would have to use the bigger more powerful model.
@TonysTractorAdventure16 күн бұрын
That cracks me up. Try doing it with a chainsaw and a rake. This mulcher seems amazing from that standpoint. Your logic: buy a semi-truck and trailer to haul 2500 pounds. This tool has its place. Not all areas are big.

not impressed at all. first off its way more dangerous doing everything in reverse, especially on slopes. you cant clear trees out like a front attached on a skid steer. its way slower than a brush hog....i dont even see who would want or have a use for it. not to mention your neck is going to break turning it all day. much better options
@TonysTractorAdventure17 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your opinion. It seems like you're in the minority. Most people realize it is for farm use and small jobs. I have had a bigger one for 3 years without a single incident. A good friend of mine and an exceptional skid steer operator sucked a tree limb into the cab of his skid steer, bending the front cab onto his ankle. Skid steers are extremely dangerous, and numerous examples of them being turned over. According to OSHA, the skid steer is one of the most hazardous equipment used in construction sites. I will concede that you must turn your head while using it. However, most people are smart enough to understand this is not for all-day use. Tractor operators have been looking over their shoulders for over 100 years. A bush hog will leave sapling spikes everywhere it goes. This mulcher smooths the ground over and turns everything into toothpicks down to and below ground level. No spikes are sticking up for UTV tires. Saying that backing down a hill with the tractor is the most dangerous thing indicates to me that you have very little time in a tractor seat, and you don't understand the center of gravity. A tractor backing down a hill is the safest way.
