Hey Tony, It was a pleasure spending a few minutes speaking with you at the TYM/Scott's tractor show in Augusta,Maine this past weekend. If you remember me, Brian, the Alaska fisherman, I really wanted to thank you for helping me decide to make the purchase of the T25. Maybe your encouragement to me to consider starting my own YT channel will come to fruition, my $5 dollar word. Thanks again Tony.

Great timing as I'm about to take possession of a 2024 Kioti NS 6010 HST to manage my newly acquired 20 acres of overgrown towering trees, woods and brush. Chipping what I can with an 8" PTO chipper, saw milling the bigger stuff and burning the rest.

I have the Standard Duty 333 with the double clamp (333D72 - 72″). I've had it for going on 2 years now and I absolutely love it and cannot tell you how much time and work it has saved me. But there are, as with any product, some things I think would really improve on it... one is the R shaped cotter pin that holds the pin that connects the cylinder to the clamp. It will get caught by brush, limbs or whatever you are grabbing and will pull out. I have lost several and finally ended up putting a standard cotter pin in where you bent the ends, and it has worked well so far. The other is I would recommend adding a reenforcing backing plate to the clamp tines just like they have on the rake tines. Just that little bit extra would help prevent them from bending as easily. Having said all that, I highly recommend them if you are looking for a good quality grapple. Like I said, I love mine and could not imagine doing without it at this point.

Nice bit of work here y'all! The explanations really helped on each type of grapple and the weight vs. steel grade vs. strength trade offs helped as well. I stumbled into a nice lightly used 25hp 2025R tractor with a single cylinder "root grapple" with the full lower "jaw" parallel to the ground. Grapple is really too heavy for the loader, but it's cheap around 60% of the appropriately sized and lighter one that Precision makes that would bump up my loader capacity by 50%. Found this the hard way clearing big pine tree debris at a friend's place after a tornado. As usual, the folks who need the best tools have less than the best equipment. Oh well, I'm learning. Next time, twin cylinder, lighter Precision Grapple it is!

How does the rake grapple do with picking up logs? I use mine primarily for moving logs around for me to mill, yes I will do some brush clearing etc but primarily moving logs. I’m concerned that it won’t pick up some of my larger logs. My tractor is a 78hp tractor and I have 36” round trees, will a rake grapple pick something up like that? Any thoughts/opinions. Thanks.
@TonysTractorAdventure Жыл бұрын
I use it primarily for moving logs as well. It's nice to be able to scrape the ground well.

I have two of their grapples. Bigmouth 327 on my LS and small add a grapple on my Yanmar SA 325. Best money I’ve ever spent on a tractor accessory/implement. And a piranha toothbar is a game changer also.

Most smaller tractors sold with loaders in Australia come with a 4 in 1 bucket. So very few grapples are sold here. Operators get by with their 4 in 1 bucket. This is a bit of a pity as a grapple would be a better tool to pick up brush.
@TonysTractorAdventure Жыл бұрын
I have thought about a 4 in 1 bucket. I think they are brilliant. I don't know why they are not common here. .

Super video that helped me learn a great deal about grapplers. Are there any options if your tractor is not already set up with a 3rd function? Can you operate the grappler double clamp off of the loader on existing hydraulics that power the loader bucket? I think I already know the answer but wanted to confirm. If 3rd function is needed, what is your best reccommendation? Are there kits that can be retrofitted for a front function or just run hydraulic hoses to the rear remotes? Thank you!!
@TonysTractorAdventure5 ай бұрын
By your comment, I know, you know what you are doing. Most people bend their loaders with a stump bucket, so I don't recommend them to new operators. They can be awesome with someone who knows how to use them. Great explanation!
@TonysTractorAdventure5 ай бұрын
By the time you buy enough hose to run from the rear to the front, it's cheaper just to get an aftermarket third function kit. Look at Summit.

The single klamp works well with rake grapples imo due to raking on the ground and bakk dragging.

I put a link to my grapple in this video. It would be the perfect size for your tractor and I trust it. It is built with AR100 steel, vs mild steel. As far as implements, there are hundreds of manufactures.

My new round diesel truck is sitting in the dealership shop with a transmission tour part. It is happening to every company right now. You can go on the John Deere form, the Kubota forum, the Massey Ferguson forum, or any other tractor for him and see the same story that you are telling here. I hope you get your part soon but no company is perfect and they are affected by shipping just like any other company.

@TonysTractorAdventure Жыл бұрын
Third function has to be add to the tractor to use a grapple. It is much cheaper if you have the dealer install a third function valve at the time of purchase. The dealer may make a better deal if a grapple is bought at the time of purchase.

you should talk weight of tractor and NOT the HP. a KUBOTER BX is 25 HP but is a toy, pretty much a lawn tractor. or you could have a large frame branson 25 HP. then again if you bought a KUBOTER BX you have more serious problems to worry about, maybe recycle it with the soda cans and start over.
