I've had this same model for about a year and a half now and I just love it. I had a Bostich 6-gal pancake compressor that would scare the bejeebers out of me every time it turned on. I use this in my woodshop every day and hardly even know it's there, it's so quiet.

I just got the 10 gallon in this line and they’re so quiet! I love it. I have larger compressors, and I have them all run into a manifold with check valves and a regulator on the manifold output so I can use whichever I want, or combine them for higher cfm, but this one does most things just fine. It’s just so nice to not have that ear-splitting noise every time I want to use an air tool. It was even better than I expected. I used to avoid air tools to avoid the noise, but now I find myself using them a lot more. They are actually quieter in real life than they seem on youtube videos. If anyone is considering getting one, just do it.

Absolutely agreed. Ya I remember always having to yell at someone when talking not I can just talk normal and hear without an issue and your right. They are quieter in person. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts

I've had this model for over a year and haven't had any problems with it. I'm still impressed by how quiet it is and use it in my basement workshop for pin jailers and a blow gun. Haven't had to use it for tires since I've been using a Ryobi inflator.

Had this exact compressor for maybe 3-4 years. Light use but started acting up last summer. Nasty burned smell from the capacitor and would sometimes not start. Finally failed totally couple days ago. Annoyingly enough the cap is EXTREMELY difficult to get to unless I remove most of the plumbing. I’ll probably do that and use a good quality part since I’m Overall pleased with the rig. I have it mounted on a repurposed hose cart. Does run out of oomph if I use a blow gun but it recovers ok. It is quiet though. Used it running a trim nailer and it’s quiet enough to have a relaxed convo with my work partner.

Tip for this compressor, connect your hoses first before you start. At high pressure it's nearly impossible to connect the hose, just let the pressure off some when connecting hoses.

I might pick this up today. For the metal shavings, I have a piece of tubing taped to any extra shop vac nozzle that works great to reach into tight spaces. But for general dirt and debris, air is awesome.

Ya this thing has been awesome. I love it and how quiet it is. But if you plan to do anything more then like the blow gun, inflater or nailer. I might consider the 6 gallon just to have that extra air.

Hello again Tony Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I've been thinking about a compressor for a while. Like you I don't have much daily use. To be sure I am tracking with you. You said this oil-less. So what maintenance does it require? The noise level is amazing. Again thank you 😊
@TonyTheTechnician2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and I hope you had a good weekend. Yes this is oiless and requires no maintenance besides draining the tank every once in while to get any condensation out. But that's super easy. And ya the fact that it's oiless and is this quiet is amazing.

Hey Tony, I hope you respond. I need an electric impact that can remove lug nuts (of course) and shock struts, or items with high torque, but not insane torque. Just a solid all around working on cars electric impact, any particular one you can recommend?

Do you have a Cordless brand of tool that you already own. I always suggest looking at brands you may already own just so you don't have more chargers and batteries.

Thanks for the video! Any idea how long you can run the blow gun before it kicks back on? Thinking of getting one this size for occasional use cleaning car interiors, so not too heavy use.

When it comes to using a blow gun it will run through it pretty quickly. Next time I use it I'll time it.

Hello tony how's everything your direction? I still use air impacts and air rachets in my shop. I think there more powerful then cordless. I have both but still prefer pneumatic air tools. I bought this and rehabbed my basement a couple years ago. Now when I use it, it runs correctly on first try. When it gets low on air, it never kicks back on. I have to let all the air out and unplug and re-plug it after a minute. So pissed. I want a quiet solution, I'm sensative to loud noises and it's scary with nailguns for me as a DIYer. The problem I have with this compressor is, when using it for cleaning (sweeping out the garage or blowing dust out of things) the "PSSSSSSSSSSSST" of the air coming out of the blower nozzle is louder than the compressor itself 🤦🏼 Kind of defeats the purpose of a quiet compressor....
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
Haha ya it definitely depends on the tool or attachment your using with the compressor. It is funny that you say that though bc I always remember when my old compressor would run I couldn't even hear the air nozzle blowing. Now that this unit is so quiet it does seem loud when blowing things out 👍
@amyann523 Жыл бұрын
Would it change anything if I used a bigger gauge hose? Or would that just mean none of my attachments would fit anymore??? I think I just need a bigger, WAY BIGGER, tank. I just want to be able to sweep out the entire garage in ONE pass.... Instead of having to wait for the tank to refill every 15 seconds
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
@@amyann523 ya changing the hose won't help. For your use you need something with a larger tank

I have the 10 gallon quiet fortress. They make up to 26 I think and they aren’t too expensive at all. I have larger compressors too, but for a lot of stuff, the 10 gallon is enough. I got it for $270 last month. I think it’s 4.5 or so SCFM @ 90, and it will run a die grinder as long as you aren’t using it for long periods continuously. I wouldn’t expect it to run an air sander - but I have louder compressors for that (which I now rarely use).

Some of them are. I can’t speak to durability but my fortress compressor is great so far (month or so). Their good-better-best strategy places the fortress as their premium brand, like icon hand tools or hercules power tools. I have a bunch of hercules and bauer tools as well and they’ve all been good so far. For my most important, most frequently used tools, I do go higher end, but some of the hf stuff in the higher lines is good now. I recently got a chief die grinder and chief air drill, and those have been top quality (like near tool truck quality). Again, can’t speak to durability, but they feel heavy and solid and work really well with plenty of power. Not like the old central pneumatic stuff which was more or less single use.
