The main riff comes from bluegrass - guitar players know it as the Lester Flatt G run. It's no accident that Horace Silver played this in G, the typical bluegrass key. The Hard Bop era is known for taking traditional forms and reworking them for jazz. This is a perfect example of going back to the roots for some killer jazz.

Save your money and watch my videos! No seriously, congratulations. I don't know how to prepare other than practice a lot, learn all you can on your own, and face the realities of the music business before you commit too much time, energy and $$. good luck!!
