Can we use too in negative and questions? For examples she doesn't have too many books in her library. Or it's better to use enough: she doesn't have enough books in her library?
@CrownAcademyEnglish9 ай бұрын
Hello. Both of those sentences are grammatically correct but the meanings are very different. If she needs 10 books but she only has 5 books, we can say "She doesn't have enough books." If she has the space on her bookshelf for 10 books and she only has 5 books, we can say "She doesn't have too many books." I hope that helps you understand the difference in meaning. Andrew

there is not enough cheese for everyone. there is not too much cheese for everyone. are the two sentences correct in meaning?
@CrownAcademyEnglish7 жыл бұрын
Both sentences are grammatically correct but the meaning of both sentences is different. "there is not enough cheese for everyone. " -> some people will not have any cheese to eat because there is a shortage of cheese. "there is not too much cheese for everyone." -> There is not a surplus of cheese.
