True Story: Growing up I had a VHS cassette tape with my father performing/lip syncing this song holding me in his arms. I was about 3 years old. Unfortunately my father passed away when I was 8. I had this tape all the way until I was about 18 and it got lost when we lost our home. This song has a lot of sentimental value to me. I will forever love it!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

On a documentary, the women who know Too Short call him shy and don't hang out at clubs much. This is the just public image to sell records, not the real person. Many of these people who rap, are family men. The record companies decide what type of image they should have.

For me this song brings chills through my body because even though it's 30 years old, it was dedicated to me and my four brothers (5 kids in the house, no food to eat). We lived in this exact same neighborhood, Dog Town, in West Oakland, when he shot this video. I remember the two burnt dummies on the swings from when we'd walk to Hoover elementary school every morning. The wino pushing the basket was named "Thunderbird". This video literally takes me 30 years back home!

Oh my God that that comment gave me chills. When this song came out I lived up in Oakland and the house that Gus Williams the SuperSonics owned back in the 80s. I am white and my husband was black and we got hooked up into the gang life and crack cocaine back in the day. It's good you are doing okay, and that some people came out of the game alive so many many years later.

It was also set to play (on PS2) when you first went to get a haircut and some food with Ryder. Best intro to a game because you're not even doing missions you're just cruising the hood passing prostitutes, drug dealers and gang members, with your homie getting some food listening to some classic tunes. Captured the feeling very well.
