This episode is great it really shows how Morty really thinks about himself and rick on rewatch. Like it shows he wants love from rick and a caring Relationship with him plus looks up too him but he also kinda doesn't like/trust him and Resents him and Doesn't like things about himself. I wonder if the fighting NPC's dying off in the war has changed Morty back to where he wouldn't stand up for himself anymore or fight.

Fun fact about the story writing, most of these episodes they've had on the backburner since even the first season, hell even the dog is gonna show back up at some point. They just don't know where is a good place to insert them throughout the season(s)

Another solid Rick and Morty episode, just as you stated previously - entertaing adventure balanced with an underpinning of deeply cut, clever Canonized world-building. Simply great writing, humorous & witty storytelling, alongside moments of emotionally creative sentiments eliciting empathetic and sympathetic feelings from the viewers - rendering impressively layered, relatable and ultimately more complete, complex characters. I loved the existentialism themes of this episode and the questions of weather or not the next generation was still part of "Morty". I think everyone is seeing this as a lost because of how it effects Morty's character development and the Die Hard references. They could use this episode to effect his decision making in later adventures OR Rick can restore the parts that were lost using the same method with "Mind Blowers" or "Decoy" protocols. ps: I'm also thinking the Die Hard parts are a shot at fans who model their entire lives/identities after pop culture vs someone who just wings it LOL.

i Dont know, I feel like Rick planned this whole thing after seening what a morty that doesnt trust in rick could do. Even if all the mortys left together it would have been by all mortys now trusting rick wich would end in the same scenario. The only way our morty would be preserved would be if Rick forced everyone to leave, respecting their rights to not trust him but still saving morty. But from the getgo he was more than willing to take only the mortys take trusted him and forget about the 8%.

Demolition Man, Robocop, Terminator, Face Off, James Bond, The Rock, Hard Target, Time Cop, Commando, Tombstone, True Lies, Total Recall, and many more.
