In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Champ. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. If downfall was part of the base game, it would be so cool if like when you die from any playable characters in downfall, you get to continue your game but now in descent with said character from the point your adventurer died, linking both ascent and descent would be fun imo, and vice versa works too

Yeah I think this is generally an older vid. Iirc they also got rid of the reverse campfires. (I.e. there is no longer one at the start and there is always one at the end.)

First time watcher: WHY??? A card that gives 2 block for every card played? Upgraded it costs zero energy, and you have a shiv deck build? That one card can get you 20 plus block Everytime it's played. You skipped it for 5 max hp...I must know why.

He was already blocking for enough with the Wards so that card is just not good enough for the deck. He probably would've taken it if he was lacking block cards. Also +5 max hp is huge... Strawberry gives 7 max hp for comparison

Downfall lame? It’s a professional level mod, imo. I’ll give you my 2 cents. 1. The artwork for the cards is very high quality. They even added beta art for all of them as well! (So many cards for 8 characters. A lot of the cards in this vid have been updated.) 2. The unique mechanics for 8 dadgum characters are fun, distinct, and manage to stay within the spirit of the game. 3. The epic and hilarious twist of events, making them fun and fresh for even hardcore veterans of the game. 4. The rockin’ theme song at the beginning of the game! 5. A whole new way to experience the game from the villains perspective. 6. Unlockable and even animated skins! I think that’s definitely going above and beyond for a free mod. I’ve only just started playing Downfall and even I can see a lotta love went into it. It’s not perfectly balanced (sorry Thanos) but it’s incredibly fun and kinda the whole point of playing games in the first place.

It'd all eventually come down to the text application. If a shiv is added when the first attack's text doesn't use the exhaust keyword, there'd be no synergy. If the game actually checks if the cards are exhausted or not, then maybe it would be worth a try, but it would have the downside of potentially flooding your discard pile with shivs

Its an amazing mod that lets you play as bosses/ enemies of the spire, it also adds in 1 character named the hermit, the gunslinger

The guy above me is lying baalor got early access to slay the spire 2 a year ago and this was a secret game mode the he had a subgoal to play and he crushed it so plays this game mode a lot. Everybody knows baalor plays on his fridge and can't mod the game 🙄🙄
