Seems it's normal to make something that we don't like because most of the time, our art tastes are way beyond our skills! So just keep doing it, and one day, we will have the ability to re-create what's in our head and show them to others!!!!

Wow!! I never imagined my compositions to be played by real musicians! My bad for not thinking about if it's practical or not for this piece ;) But I'm posting another simpler piano solo track after Halloween! That's way more practical!!! Speaking of this, do you think if it's a good idea to release music sheets (pdfs)? Please lemme know your thoughts on this!

this is the type of music we should be giving more recognition replies to every single comment, which shows a lot of dedication I hope this someday gets the coverage it deserves the captions are a fun addition btw I will definitely keep following along, so glad I discovered this would love to see somebody perform this live also all around amazing composition

I thought no one read the caption so I was thinking about stop writing captions :0 I guess I should keep writing it then :D And thanks for the heartwarming words! Recently I'm a bit burnt out because of my day job but you comment makes my day! Unfortunately some part of this composition seems to be quite impractical for pianists so I guess the chance of seeing a live performance of this piece will be super low ;)

OMG I have been listening Nier's OST (both Replicant & Automata) for years! I usually write what I heard in my head so maybe I came up with similar chords unconsciously :0 Anyway, thanks for your support!!
@superexplosion122 ай бұрын
There are parts that are really close to a NieR song (or motif, since it appears in more than one song). Great taste if it was intentional. Ashes of Dreams is the main one.
@TYMusic2172 ай бұрын
Maybe that's because I listen to Nier's soundtracks quite a lot, although I did that unintentionally ;)
@JiaHoong_ChuaАй бұрын
I would leave it rubato, take out the quantizing, only drag or tidy some parts if needed to, it would sound great! only quantize it like this, if you're planning of producing the music sheets.
@TYMusic217Ай бұрын
Thank you very much for the advice! Actually, I want to do that too, but I'm not so good at piano so I can't play convincing rubato🥲 That's why I usually quantize everything and add more tempo automation afterward... I'm a flute player and now I'm also learning how to play the piano. Do you mind giving me advice on how to practice piano efficiently?

I would love to have u as a teacher in fl studio i really need it :D i wanna be able to do stuff like this too
@TYMusic217Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, I never use fl studio before haha but I guess I can share some methods on how I come up with musical ideas when I'm like running out of ideas. I usually think about melodic contour (shape of the melody in other words) first - does the tune stays flat, does it go upward or downward...Or does it go up first then go down..etc. And I do the similar thing for pianistic writing because I'm far from a solid piano player (ノДT) Anyway I hope this helps :)

This has a pretty similar sound to Ashes of Dreams take a listen
@TYMusic217Ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Some other guys talked about this too, and I believe the similarity probably comes from the motif used in the first few lines of Ashes of Dreams, so as theme A of this composition... I guess that's what could easily happen when I follow too much to the sound I heard in my head. So since then, I modified my workflow quite a lot, in order to focus more on originality 🥹
@DoubleF3lixАй бұрын
How do you even make something like this?
@TYMusic217Ай бұрын
I usually brainstorm for a general idea that I wanna experiment in a new composition, then imagine how the music evolves in my head, without touching any instruments or my computer. After that I'll do some sketching (mainly chords and melody) with piano and make it into a complete idea later on :)

unliked this video because the guy said "im not good at piano" (what's obviously not true) just to farm subscribers and likes.
@TYMusic217Күн бұрын
It's totally fine to unlike my videos, but seeing this comment makes me feel sorry to the other musicians who play and record their great piano pieces...so I'd like to explain how I program midi piano a bit... For those difficult runs I always use midi step input and add tempo changes afterward because I can't play that, and for the easier part in this composition, I had to hit record and then play for a few times, 2 bars each, until I got something that sound better to my ears, then add some quantization... I hope I don't have to input midi notes in this way because this is the main reason why I compose slow... Still, this makes my piano pieces kind of lifeless because I used too much quantization, so now I keep practicing piano (currently with Michael Aaron Piano Grade 3 book fyi)... hoping one day I can be good at this instrument
