when lea sings miss saigon songs, she is unbeatable. it was like the songs were made for her. of course the younger lea had more fragile quality in her voice. now she has more power in her mid notes.

When they decided that Lea was doing principal Kim, most of the songs for MISS SAIGON weren't even finished yet, so yes, you can actually say that the role was specifically written for her voice.

Late response, but this was at the Newport Performing Arts Center in Manila! It was a 2-day benefit held after Typhoon Yolanda (Typhoon Haiyan).
