Here it finally is- 7empest. What a tough song to keep time on. A real hand cramper too. I hope you all enjoy. My wife’s mother unexpectedly passed away this week so this is dedicated to her. RIP Debbie. 🙏🏻

Amazing playing! Certainly did the song justice, your facials say it all concerning how amazing this song is. I hope everyone gets to see Tool live in the next year or so because the new material is absolutely mind blowing. This song in particular was just a face melter, the solo and the breakdown were next level in concert. Stay safe and happy with your family! My sincere condolences. From a long time listener 😀.

@Omax Pi - thank you!! 🙏🏻 It’s pretty tough- the hand starts cramping too. I got to see Justin from 2nd row play (15 ft away) it like it was nothing. I got to see the sound check and during the show. Incredible they can all keep time live. It’s impressive. Anyway- I practiced a lot for this one and there’s still a few mess ups here and there. It’s a marathon! 🤣😂

Been a fan for a very long time and just revisiting this and noticing… For Debbie, brother. Side note, ever consider redoing it all an album at a time with the freakishly on-point playing you already have? It’d be worth actually paying the price for an album to hear you and a few other cover guys just play the discography… You rock dude.

First, my condolences. Especially with the virus going. Makes everything that much more complicated. Ive attended a couple of Zoom memorial services. It's hard on the families affected. My heart goes out to you guys. Thanks for this video. Awesome song and you nailed it. I was listening to this song earlier, and it came to me that Justins sound reminds me of a growl. It's what i love about Tool. That growling/machine gun bass. I'm more of a lurker but I just felt the need to speak up, this time. Peace.

Nice job! Even with the bass doing the same riff in the middle, Danny Carey certainly does his best to make things tricky to stick with the drums with the different patterns, and odd accents and fills, and you kept on! My band finally busted this out at practice a couple days ago, it’s a beast.
@TOOLbassplayer2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and congrats! It’s def a beast! 😀 Sometimes I wonder if FA is their last album and this was intentionally their magnum opus…I hope I’m wrong. I hope the COVId disruption allowed them to write more and decide they aren’t done. Hard to imagine Danny playing past 65 y/o… 😢

Your endurance is crazy man. The bass track is recorded in one 15 minute take? Or if you make a mistake you just record however many attempts and stitch them together?

Thank you. I def record the audio first and yes I stitch + fix to get it to as close as I can. Then I do the video- but the video is one take and even then it was grueling. One mess up you have to start over. Many of my videos do take several takes 🙏🏻🙏🏻
