Decent set list. I know they don't have time to play a lot of songs since they are all quite lengthy as is and fortunately I saw them three times between 2001 and 2007 so I've heard them play Everything live I have wanted to hear except for third eye. With that said, by the time they come through Vegas in January, I hope they have added descending and 7empest to their set list.

But I personally feel the band's live shows were the best on the 10,000 Days tour. I saw them opening with Jambi in Vegas at the Pearl, some of the best audio you'll ever hear. I was so lucky they played so many shows there. 🤘 Absolutely unmatched.

I was blessed enough to be at this show in the 5th row, in front of Adam, thanks to my uncle who rocks harder than I ever will. At 33, this was the first show I've ever brought earplugs to. As soon as Justin started the groove of "Fear Inoculum," the earplugs came out and never went back in. One simply cannot get enough volume for these songs. And I have to say it: HUGE fan of Fear Inoculum, never cared too much for Opiate or Undertow, and though this might be the best they've ever played "Parabol/Parabola" and "Ænema"... ..."Intolerance" was the highlight for me. With "Invincible" as a close second.

I have seen tool twice in my life, once at the Verizon center in little rock in 2017, and the second time this year. I can tell you, that this was far better than the show they put on in Little Rock. In Little Rock, Maynard only said one thing during the entire show, and that was something along the lines of "what's up?" Can't remember all too well, but the sound was also just horrible, and had way too much reverb. The BOK center show was 10x better, sound was on point, and the echo was just right.

Not to seem like a troll, but I believe the show in Little Rock you speak of was October 28, 2016, and it was North Little Rock actually, I was there myself. I'm from North Little Rock and we get skipped ....ALOT! So anytime they come through Arkansas, I know. In your defense, I do agree the show at Tulsa, BOK Center was way better, my son and I were there as well! However, regardless of acoustics, they did play "Third Eye" live at the Verizon North Little Rock show, and that right there was worth any bad acoustics, to which I myself am able to listen past. Agree again, the sound quality at BOK Center was impeccable, my son and I had front row seats section 120! Can't wait for January 31, 2020, have tickets for the Memphis show! Cheers Brother!

Ok, This is just my opinion and how I feel right now. Tool made MJK as big as he is today. To me it seems like Tool is Tool featuring MJK, and they are not the solid family unit a band needs to be to maintain inspiration, collaboration, and solidarity to one another in the music they make. MJK seems too good, or un- invested, being split across APC, and Puscifer, and his wine business, and multiple restaurants, on top of regular life. If you give your heart to many things, the love you can give is diluted. If I were Adam, Justin, and Danny, I would feel side-lined, and powerless in a band that commands unity and precision. I feel like MJK wearing a Puscifer jacket on his Tool tour is more then self promotion, it's a slap in the face to his band-mates and his audience, who if like me, doesn't give a shit for Puscifer, or APC for the most part. Hell, MJK is too special to even be seen in live concert, and too special to leave with the band at the end of a show. I love Tool for the music, and how it's enriched my life throughout my miniscule existence; but there is a human element to this band that leaves me a sour taste. Even this last record shows an epic performance by Tool, even worthy of buying the album at 4x the cost of any other release. But that's due to the band, not the lack luster front man, who likely wrote the lyrics in 2 weeks, and didn't give it any serious effort... But, I'll remain "calm as cookies and cream, so it seems"..(smh) Patiently awaiting their new release. An actual Tool revival. Get some DMT, shrooms, and bust out an album worthy of the band that supports you MJK!

As you probably assumed, I don't have any "social". I've inoculated myself to remain as hybrid as possible. As of now my phone still isn't smart, yet I consider myself far too over connected to media, because of youtube, and it's limiting search results, and "trending" practices. Internet is for my home pc, and I like it like that. As for my humble opinion, it remains just that. On another platform, I'm sure I'd be banned by now for having one.

My guy... Danny, Adam and Justin are the guys that make the music. Maynard just comes in after the fact and adds the vocals. Same way with APC. Maynard has taken a back seat to his band mates in live concerts to *try to allow them to be the focus of attention.
@jamesflagg48245 жыл бұрын
I think you're showing your ignorance on how the band works and Maynard's role in it. He's very prolific and got into these other projects while waiting for the rest of Tool to get some shit together. No doubt this is your honest perception of them. Tool made MJK, but MJK also made Tool. I can't imagine them with this kind of success if he wasn't in it from the beginning writing lyrics and singing his ass off on the tracks. Don't act like he was along for the ride. And I wouldn't hold your breath for another album after this one... They stayed together way longer than just about any other band from the 90's. They've put out a few masterpieces. They've done their service to society 10 fold. I'm not knocking you for your opinion though... I just think you're missing some key information. He stands back and behind the drums for sound purposes. His vocals are pretty dynamic and he/they want more control of what all sound is blasting into his mic. And plus, it's kinda cool and different (in my opinion). I've always thought it was an original idea as far as stage set up. One more thing that sets Tool apart from all the other bands. Plus just seeing his silhouette in front of the screen adds a shit load of mystique. In these times where we know everything about everyone, it's nice to have a little mystery. Kinda refreshing.
@Jack-ot1zq5 жыл бұрын
Listen to Adam and Danny in their recent podcast interviews. Every time they presented Maynard with a song over the past 12 years, he treated that music like he does all songs, by writing emotionally vulnerable lyrics that may or may not have ‘touched’ you like the good old days. Maynard never checked out of TOOL and the fact they have never cancelled a show due to his availability proves it. I think maybe you need to value the rarity even for TOOL to replicate the feelings you had 20 years ago, those are up to you to fulfill.
@jeffwood37645 жыл бұрын
Nailed it. Maynard has checked out. He even admitted to recording vocals for this album during short breaks while harvesting grapes. It's no longer important to him. I'm shocked at all the positive reviews of their recent shows and new album.

TOOL - A EXPERIENCE WHERE THE COPS ARE THE GOOD GUYS AND THE BAND ARE TOOLS (in the bad sense) Saw TOOL, and it was not that great a concert. Maynard is the same voice in every song - droning pathetically on and on … the beats are monotonous, the drums and bass of no special importance - like a child learning the drums and just banging on them till you yell “give it a rest junior”. The guitar - any guitarist could replicate, with little effort. TOOL is a head band where if you’re stoned out of your mind or on LSD, you might enjoy it - but then isn’t any music enhanced by being high? I suggest if you want to really see a mind blowing genius of an act - see NIN this year (2022) Trent Reznor is truly a showman and a marvel to watch. Each tour is a different experience- TOOL is a rehashed circle of noise that doesn’t change from one album to another. The most disturbing factor to the TOOL concert was watching people removed for simply pulling their phones out of their pockets! No shit! TOOL has a strict rule of no picture or video taking. This is fine, as we see this at almost every event for every artist today - but to be thrown out of a concert. I saw at least 100 individuals escorted out, and as I watched more closely - these people weren’t taking pictures - so the rule is don’t even touch or look at your phone at a TOOL concert. Even more strange is the cops hate it. I talked to people removed and they stated the police said they hate this band and it’s the bands policy to throw out, not the police. Wait, the police are the good guys? 😊 Throw out your fans? Comically, the new tour (2022) was filmed in full in Miami - you can watch it on you tube, with dozens more videos posted across their tour. Guess they don’t catch everyone. Here is my take: It’s clear why TOOL has the policy they have - they are not that good, and they need to suppress social media on themselves because once you see it, it’s over and they don’t want an official record of any tour because it’s the same basic show tour to tour - with different lights flashing on them. I cannot support a band that treats their fans this way - especially a mediocre band trying to pretend they are gods. TOOL will have no lasting legacy in history like a Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Black Sabbath.

just had to stop by and say how sorry i was that your show sucked as bad as it did. seen tool 13 times and that might be the worst show ever. Maynard might need to think about practicing a little more. Band was just not on at all. Don't get me wrong i know their old but the san An show was lit as fuck. this show sounded like a garage band that didn't know where the cues for most of the songs were.
