I bought one of these after wasting £30 on a 125mm concrete cutting disc for my angle grinder. I didn't like the massive amount of dust or the fact the bearing seemed off, not to mention the fact it's taking forever. I hope it's a good investment, I cut a lot of steel and I'm doing a bit of stonework also nowadays. I feel a lot more reassured after watching this review again (it's part of the reason I bought my 7650 in the first place) I can't wait for it to arrive, I'm scared to leave it in the garage though. I'm gonna have the thing sitting in the house, that easy start will be helpful if any burglars decide to pay me a visit. Cheers for the review 👍

I got my saw, good gracious it's brilliant. It has plenty of torque and the weight makes it seem a lot more trustworthy than my angle grinders for metal and stone cutting. No kick backs or accidents as it requires plenty of space and preparation before use. It starts easy, the water system takes the dust away so I don't need my overkill respirators. It has hardly any fumes compared to all the other petrol appliances I use. I've replaced the compression springs as one was broken, both were severely rusted anyway but it still worked fine. The unit is 8 years old from what I understand, I also bought a new fuel filter and spark plug. I've cleaned the filters, it seems it hasn't been maintained since it was built. I'll give it some care, perhaps a full rebuild as parts may be difficult to source with it being discontinued. I hope that it serves me for 8 years, if it works without many problems for that length of time I will consider it one of the best investments I ever made as I've spent a lot on angle grinders, discs, respirators and of course: first aid supplies, gloves and friggin boxer shorts as I tend to crap my pants every time those things take a chunk out of me.

Hey thanks for the info. I'm trenching thru some concrete tomorrow to install a channel drain at my house. I'm an electrician so I would never use a tool like this but I was able to borrow one from a buddy. Happy contracting!

Nice review James. Very timely video mate. I'm looking at ripping up some concrete in the next couple of days. Good advice re the power. I may need to go for a two stroke. Loved the way how easy it was to start. Pretty cool machine. Cheers mate

shaneconlan1 , Thanks Shane, yeah the 4 stroke or the 2 stroke should do the trick!

Our Build I had a crack yesterday James with a 14" Hilti. It wasn't to bad but l think l should have lashed out and hired the 16". The little bit of extra power would have made it a bit quicker. I know one thing, the neighbours chooks won't be laying eggs for a couple of days…..that thing was so loud LOL. Cheers mate

4:15 I'd rather choose 2-stroke cutter because of more power

I need a saw to cut thru pink granite,... a lot of it, how well do you think this saw will hold up? I am cutting an outdoor hot tub and will be cutting outdoors, fumes are not an issue... I need reliable starts and power, recommendations?

Hilti 90x with 16 blade. Just use smaller blades and it'll breeze right through

Great review ! I love the 4 stroke model :) it works a bit slower compared tot a 2 stroke but the lack of exhaust and suuuch easy starting make it gold imo. :) A 4 stroke engine should also prove to be more durable over the long time because of lower rpm and dedicated oiling :)

Thanks Dom, your spot on the ease of start is a major plus in my opinion, and no two stroke fumes are also good for the brain :)
