Tool Tuesday - Festool Domino XL

We showcase our Festool Domino XL in this episode of Tool Tuesday. We use the Domino for aligning our slabs to make tables, strengthening the long grain to the end grain for our table bases as well as our chairs.

Thanks Paul. That Domino really seems like a great idea for joints. It’s like having a biscuit with strength. And a ton more uses. I would never use a biscuit in a joint like the chair you showed, but the domino seems perfect for the job!

Nice video, really informative, when you glue up the chair, do you ever put glue in the mortise? Stay safe!

Yes we will always glue the crap out of the floating tenon joint when it's for re-inforcement of a joint. Which is almost every joint except the table glue ups.

I am familiar with the sandin divit, in the shop i pronounce it sanding DAMMIT, Justin told me ta keep that sander flat don't give in to the urge ta tip it and get that bad spot out all at once !!!!!!

Festool dont cover the adapter use under their warranty and say they can spot its use as it damages the gearbox. For the price of the Domino XL I won't risk it.
