We have the same toolbox. I will definitely be looking into doing this soon. Great video.

I have 3 of the 34" Carts...1st thing i did after putting the wheels on is take those plastic drawer latches out...the drawer slides have detents on them, and if you have to move it, theres a drawer locking lever at the back of the top section...i bought some plastic grommets to make the 1 1/4" holes smaller...in one box, that i wont be putting any screwdrivers or prybars in, i cut pieces of 1/4" Luan, i had laying around...there is an oval hole at the bottom, to help you get something dropped down there, but you would need to lay the box down...on the newer boxes, they've eliminated the panel behind the drawer slides, so all you have to do is take the bottom drawers out...one issue is the old drawer slides are not the same as the older ones, and HF sent the wrong ones to a person on one of the forums that needed a replacement...

I’m removing those drawer lock clips in the next 30 seconds now that I know that’s an option 😂

Personnel preference..absolutely..thanks for sharing p.s i used the rubber shelf matting before and also shadow boxed the loose tools so i can remember i left it out..or its an Easter egg hunt.and some days its still a hunt...Peace

I like lined the shelves in the 2 shelf US General Service Cart with the same mat. One of my workbenches is also covered with the mat. Good stuff. Lay it out in the sun on a warm day and it will take the curl out and lay flat.

heat up a socket and it will make the holes a lot better just press it into the foam comes out a lottt cleaner

I used the HF grommet set for the holes on the sides.

Hollow punch would probably good for cutting holes for screwdrivers pry bars etc, or a small copper tube you sand an edge onto

Home depot sells a dense thin rubber mat that makes awesome drawer liner.

U could also use rubber grommets that fit right

If you lose a tool down one of the holes you can get it by removing the drawers.

Do the drawers slam? The icon ones do and I hate it
@joesgarageandotherstuff9 ай бұрын
They definitely don't slam. In fact, until you really break the drawers in, you may acutally have to use a bit of effort to get them to close completely, even with the slide locks removed.

I also realized i don't need 10 screw drivers of the same size ..lol however im a tool hore..Ya just never know when ya need a pry bar..lol

You are gonna wish you never removed those drawer stops when all suddenly when you are doing something oneday and you are standing infront of all your tools admiring them.... Then all the drawers start to slide open one by one and then POOOOOOF the tool cart falls right on top of you .... Then you will say , "Man what the F*** did I ever take those drawers locks out for " ? Is it really that much extra work to open a drawer by pushing the lock to the side ......... I have seen full toolboxes fall on top of people from not locking there drawers like they were made to be ..... It is not a pretty site . But you want your drawers to slide open ever so easy ...

I also have he same cart in my garage, which is a totally different situation. The garage cart is loaded with weight, so I've left the sliders in that one. The box in the basment doesn't contain the same amount of weight in the drawers and I won't be wheeling it around the basement.
