I'm 69 and it has been a long time since I have seen this show and what a treat! It's like no years have gone by except that in those years you didnt get all the verbal garbage and scenes that we get these days.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but Richard Basehart sometimes slips into English pronounciation as to an American English I suppose because he did a lot of theatre so he did slip up sometimes, I love listening out for them, God Bless him ☺

What I find truly amazing is how they can blow up all the subs circuitry and still have all the circuitry repaired/replaced and have the sub up and running in a matter of minutes. Only in the movies.
@michaelscott1658
@michaelscott1658 5 сағат бұрын
Oh, SeaView had plenty of plug & play nuclear circuitry on standby for just such unavoidable circumstances... The one thing that always made zero sense & drove me crazy on this program is whenever the SeaView would encounter any type of turbulence that would make the ship toss to & fro & sparks would fly around the deck resulting in small fires - all the crew members would stagger back & forth across the floor as the sub rocked back & forth. Why didn't anyone ever HANG ON TO SOMETHING so they wouldn't be tossed about like ragdolls? I mean I sure as hell would be grabbing the nearest available nailed down ANYTHING to hold on to rather than flying back & forth across the floor every time wouldn't you? DUHHH....

It's a shame that Irwin Allen took the series into the monster of the week direction. Though a few good ones popped up once in awhile after it went to color the best Voyages were the black & white. The scripts were in line with the time of early scientific exploration and the age of espionage. Even David Hedison in some of his interviews agrees the best writers were the early years.

Tooleman how do you do it? If Irwin Allen was still with us, he would probably stroke out after watching one of your HD presentations, I see MeTV now offers HD. Are your uploads higher definition than Me? I got lost in Chief Sharkey's green shirt a few weeks ago. Also saw him walk up the stairs, and in the next scene he is just standing in a corner. You make KZbin premium worth the $129 or $139

This show does not pass the nostalgia itch for me. The acting is awful, the writing is stupid, makeup hilarious, and even the editing sucks. One of the few for me that is so collectively awful, it’s so bad it’s bad. BTW, they didn’t even make an effort with cabin sizes or anything. The warehouse size diving area is hilarious.
