Sine plate could have the most educational content of the group. ATB, Robin

Agree.

I'd agree with Robin as well for the unfinished sine plate. I know how I'd double check the exact roll spacing against my Jo blocks, but another much more experienced method and the correct way to surface grind it would be of help to many of us.

I am a woodworker but any project you choose to do I will enjoy watching the transformation. You were the first machinist I watched on KZbin. The videos on lapping motivated me to lap in all my wood planes and they function and look much better now so thank you for that. Many tools and methods filtered to woodworking and I always get as much accuracy and machined wood parts into any project I am working. When all surfaces are machined , the project goes together much easier and the overall look is a great improvement. I was even motivated to attend the Summer Bash this year and was disappointed you could not attend. Stan told me you got recruited into long extra hours of work. I understand that all too well.

Hey Tom, Since you're into polishing & lapping kinds of things, I have a friend who buys and sells used stuff. A year or so, ago, he got two silicon wafer polishing machines made in England. They sorta look like a record turntable. Above the threaded spinning vertical axle, it has a multi-adjust mechanism to occilate the abrasive arm, in an infinite number of patterns, but stay 'in plane'. There is an autofeeder for the abrasive sluice mixture. They are simple, electrically, an ON-Off and timer. There's two, both work. If you are have any curiosity, I can take some pics; I identify and repair things for him, so I have these at my place. He's a regular at the Portland industrial auctions, so when something obscure won't sell, they look to him, so he brings things in, all the time, and has no clue what it is. He told me he bought a lathe, last week. Well, they told him it was a lathe, they thought. Turns out it's a horizontal hydraulic broaching machine, 30-50 years old. American Broaching, I think. Only saw a bad photo. Looks like a 6-7' wide vinyl sign cutter, with a 4-6" hydraulic ram out the right side! I'm outside of Portland, so shipping wouldn't be astronomical. They are a bit heavy; made me grunt a bit to lift it to the bench when I was testing them.
