For auto salvage work I find the short stroke of the DeWalt advantageous in close-quarter cutting parts like truck frame rails when harvesting drivetrains. It's not fast but I can apply considerable force without it bogging using thick Diablo carbide toothed blades. Recip saws are a big deal in modern auto salvage since they don't start fires like cutting torches and make much cleaner cuts. Higher speed is not advantageous on thick steel or cutting tire carcasses (its easier to handle rims with most of the tire removed) which tends to overheat blades (though a plastic soda bottle of soapy water makes great coolant if you have room to use it). If my work were mostly wood etc I'd want much higher speed and longer stroke.

My favourite Powertool is my supersawzall I love it. I’ve only ever used a old makita corded before I bought the Milwaukee so never noticed it being heavy or slow to change the blade. I use Milwaukee carbide blades so don’t have to change often. use it with a 12.0 and if you have the right blade for the job it will cut anything with absolutely no stalling or slow down. If your used to the weight it’s easily the best demo saw on the market

inb4 Lou Cifer comes in here to lay down more astroturf. Like he always does on every video where Dewalt isn't winning. Like I keep telling people, Dewalt just doesn't know how to make a good reciprocating saw. Dewalt makes some great tools in most other categories, just not this one. And even if the Gen 2 Flexvolt was ~10% faster I still wouldn't even consider it the best overall saw. No rafter hook and no adjustable shoe is a gigantic fail on Dewalt's part.

They make good stuff, I’d never really heard of them or even cared about power tools much until I started working as a mechanic on the civilian side of things (Air Force provided all the tools we needed.) But I quickly learned from everyone in the industry that Milwaukee Fuel is nearly unmatched among consumer-grade brands across most of their tools. And the few times they do fall slightly behind they also tend to be better built and more rugged so they can handle daily abuse more. That in and of itself is almost more valuable than the raw performance and I wish more reviewers would incorporate that into their testing. It’s all well and good that Dewault makes a better performing Chainsaw and Blower now, and I’m happy for them because competition is good, but will those tools last as long through daily usage and abuse in a professional setting? I think probably not but I would love to see some real testing done so I can find out. Some of my co-workers somehow manage to destroy even a Milwaukee Fuel Impact in a matter of months, standard ones last maybe a couple of weeks. But that’s mostly due to abuse, dropping, kicking, stepping on, dunking in water. I’m much more kind to my tools so I don’t have that problem as much. Except when they borrow my tools when I’m not at work and wreck them. 😒

The 9.0 Ah Flexvolt has a higher max output compared to a 12.0 Milwaukee/Dewalt pack anyways. Samsung 30T vs. Samsung 40T. Also worth mentioning that Milwaukee is even using the lower Ah rated 30T in their new MX Fuel for a reason. Because it has a higher discharge rating. (35A vs 30A) So it doesn't really matter. Dewalt still technically had a Wattage advantage in this video.

Recip saws are used on far tougher jobs than wood. How about testing on pickup truck, SUV and car frame and subframes like when harvesting engines in self-service salvage yards? More than a fe Americans are serious gearheads and an effective recip saw pays of very quickly when time is money. The faster I can harvest a 6.0 or 4L80e the faster I can get to the next one. Visit your local pull-a-part and they may let you clip (cut a donor car in half) a hulk waiting to be crushed.

Yes spend more and you get a faster tool but it comes with problem after problem I've owned my dewalt set of tools and I ha e never had a problem but my Milwaukee I had to replace them every year so I stopped buying them I've had my dewalt cordless set for 4 years with zero problems yes maybe slower but alot more dependable

Looks like you flipped the lumber over when you moved to the other side seeing how that big knot moved also the clamps are not in the same position in the second cut end grain is also tighter in the dewalt side not a fan boy of either tool but does seem that something is wrong

Looking at make a big purchase on a bunch of tools, Milwaukee seems to have faster tools, not best batteries. Dewalt has some very good impact wrenches, but not as many good features or speed

The smoothest operation of almost any recip saw is the older Ridgid GenX-4. When I demonstrate Milwaukee Fuel VS Ridgid GenX-4 everyone is shocked by how much quieter, smoother and so much less vibration with the Ridgid. Milwaukee fuel by comparison almost vibrates out of your hands and is so noisy you need hearing protection. With tools the excess noise and vibration is wasted energy, sucking the battery down faster.

Not crazy about DeWalt, batteries don't last and big dollars to replace, my charger burnt out within the first 2 months and had to fight for a replacement, the blade release is nice if it don't keep releasing the blade as the unit had time on it. Same with the drill systems.

Diablo thick metal blades with carbide teeth and 5 12 Amp hour batteries you can cut big I-beam all day long with the super sawzall I got video of me doing it. I'm currently cutting up 3 conex shipping containers with it

I purchased my Milwaukee fuel brushless Sawzall and then maybe 3-4 months later Milwaukee came out with this Sawzall and they had a special on both sides for 199 but the one reason why I did not purchase this new Sawzall was bet it weighs almost 2 more pounds than the other Sawzall

the milwaukee had a bigger battery so it had a better power output, using a 6 amp flexvolt vs 9 amp also shows this.
