Tools I use for watch modding

Hey Rob, I would suggest getting brass tweezers or a good set of tweezers. I can't live without my set, but it can always be substituted for rodico to pick up non-heavy parts like handsets. I personally feel more in control with tweezers since its not malleable like rodico - sort of like an extension of my hands. Also, check out the bergeon 2461 for the screwdrivers. Some people just like to replace the blades if they get damaged but I found it really rewarding to know how to dress screwdrivers. The sharpening tool will make it easier to retain a consistent angle for sharpening. Pair it up with a india stone + arkansas stone, then you'll be able to maintain those bergeon heads. I get so much satisfaction knowing how to take care of quality tools.

Thank you Rob...I have slowly increased the number and quality of tools I use. I need to get a set of the Bergeon hand setting tools...I find the cheap one seems to cause more problems than it is worth. I agree with you for things you are using repeatedly it is worth getting better quality tools :)

Esslinger has the small forks the cheapest I could find. I ordered an extra when I got my Bergeon. The also have good deal on Spring Bars. Good content thanks.

Great video! Would love to see more videos of you actually doing the mods (I've enjoyed seeing the ones you've posted that are unedited so that we can see the whole process you use, the good and the difficult). What is the aqua and white stuff that you say you try to keep bagged up because it goes bad? Sounded like it was for cleaning, but I'm unfamiliar with it. I will try another build soon maybe live. The “putty” is Rodico and is for removing oils and dust from dial and hands mostly.

Quality of tools makes all the difference. Especially with something difficult like watches. I want a set of those screwdrivers. Bought some generic ones from amazon and they’re terrible

No Blu Tac? A big chunk of Blu Tac is Unreal for Casebacks an holding or sitting bits on! I saw the Hammer and swore I could use one of them sometimes,,, AHAHA. That Crystaltimes Non Seiko You created was Sick Stuff for an Amature? Unreal Bobby.

How do you use blu-tac? You use it to actually remove casebacks? I'm interested to know because I'm tired of scratching mine up!

On several of your videos you have used the Seiko Turtle preset back removal tool (yellow round head with brass? protrusions, white handle). Where did you get this? I have looked all over the internet to no avail.

as nice and great as the bergeon stuff is, at least for the non-modding stuff like replacing batteries, replacing straps and bracelets, and sizing bracelets, i do feel like the cheap chinese tools really can get you far for a fraction of the price. i bought a set of 5 screwdrivers like yours for
